Netgear ProSafe Plus second-generation switches have gigabit speeds and web-based management features. ProSafe Plus switches allow you to create multiple user groups, prioritize voice and video traffic with Quality of Service QoS , and monitor and troubleshoot. The equipment supports a variety of deployment options, including positioning the device on a desk, wall mounting and rack mounting.

To the previously released 8-port model, Netgear adds new PoE switches with 5, 16, and 24 ports. PoE switches are ideal for powering IP phones, cameras and wireless access points, allowing them to be installed in areas without nearby electrical wiring.

Unique to the Netgear five-port PoE switch is the PoE Powered Device PD port only, it requires no external power adapter, and can be installed away from electrical outlets for maximum deployment flexibility. It also provides pass-through power to power devices connected to it, such as Wi-Fi access points, IP phones and cameras.

Netgear ProSafe Plus switches address the growing need for smart SMB networks with features that help optimize. ProSafe Plus switches provide traffic monitoring, allowing network administrators to track changes and when connectivity problems arise, the switches can identify and isolate the source of network problems with cable diagnostics. ProSafe Plus switches use a port-based or tag-based prioritization system to optimize traffic.

ā€œFor our channel partners and their SMB customers, the performance, manageability, reliability and flexibility of networking equipment is just as important as for large enterprise networks, but they are more cost conscious. ā€“ Highlighted by Maggie Wu, Netgearā€™s senior manager of switching products. ā€“ The hardware introduced today complements our Gigabit Plus switch portfolio to address the growing demand for PoE-enabled solutions for video, voice and data, as well as the need for additional management features. Weā€™re pleased to offer these products at a price point that makes it a logical transition for companies planning to upgrade their networks.
