MediaPlayer is an intuitive plug and play solution for Digital Signage systems that can be easily installed and configured. With NEC’s MediaPlayer, the latest, exciting live visuals can be set up and run faster and easier, showing your target audience dynamic, relevant information and advertising.

The modular SoC MediaPlayer solution integrates easily with any compatible NEC display with a Raspberry Pi slot. It provides efficient remote control of settings, whether you’re controlling individual displays or multiple screens at once. It takes advantage of a browser-based playlist and content distribution, as well as centralized device management capabilities. Organizations can select different media and web content formats via a browser to suit any application, and the modular architecture of the player demonstrates our support for modern technology.

“A key, unique feature of our new media player is its ability to act as a hub for partner companies, allowing the user to seamlessly install supported CMS systems directly from the MediaPlayer,” said Nils Karsten, Manager of Strategic Alliances at NEC Display Solutions Europe. – As requirements and markets change, we can enhance its functionality and performance. No need to change the underlying infrastructure of the Digital Signage solution.

“NEC MediaPlayer is easy to install, replace and upgrade. The software provides for further addition of third-party applications and integration with third-party solutions. The media player perfectly complements our modular SoC concept and computing philosophy,” added Ulf Greiner, Senior Product Manager at NEC Display Solutions Europe. – It is a complete solution, built to work, evolve with our corporate ambitions and the ever-changing needs of our customers. Both non-specialists and experienced installers will benefit from the simplicity and reliability of our system.”.

“The credit card-sized Raspberry Pi module is becoming increasingly popular with business users and is being used in a wide variety of industrial and professional applications, such as manufacturing automation and point-of-sale. The new NEC MediaPlayer combines simplicity and an open architecture that fits perfectly with the Raspberry Pi philosophy, said Eben Upton, CEO of Raspberry Pi Trading. – The Raspberry Pi’s basic architecture is designed to be simple, scalable and easy to set up. The barrier to entry is low, and there are virtually no limitations in what you can achieve.”.

Price and affordability

NEC MediaPlayer will be available from February 2020 pre-installed on all OMP V-Series LCD displays, and will also be compatible with any NEC display that supports Raspberry Pi integration.
