Music is in his blood

Quad company officially announced the sales launch of newest Vena II integrated amplifier. The exact specifications of the device, as always, can be found on the manufacturer’s official website, but we will mention only the most interesting features of the novelty.

The model’s main advantages are substantially revised platform, optimized algorithms of digital processing, improved analog part, built-in MM phono stage and separate headphone amplifier. It seems that the only thing that the second “Vena” has borrowed from its predecessor in full is the recommended retail price 85490 Dollars . A very reasonable price tag and a solid list of upgrades – a trump card is very serious indeed. Even if the Vena II won’t become a complete leader in its class, it will certainly stay in the top ranks for a long time!

For digital processing is responsible specially developed DAC, built on a 32-bit HyperStream architecture and takes advantage of ESS technology. Improved hardware minimizes noise and greatly expands dynamic range. In terms of numbers, the first version of Vienna supported 24-bit/192kHz PCM signal processing via USB. By comparison, the Vena II easily handles 32-bit/384kHz content over DSD up to DSD256 .

What it gives in practice? The new Quad integrated amplifier easily handles all modern formats of Hi-Res audio! Moreover, its power reserve should be enough for a long time – in this sense the purchase of this device can be considered a very sound investment. Like the first model in the series, the novelty is equipped with a proprietary Class AB amplifier. The company’s engineers have worked on it as well and that’s why the Vena II surpasses its predecessor with confidence according to the main criteria.

At the same time the manufacturer tried not to complicate the device where it is not required. For example, everything that concerns the connection and networking functions is realized in a simple and clear way. The amplifier supports streaming via Bluetooth with aptX and AAC codecs, which makes it easy to link it into one system with smartphones, tablets and personal computers. It is not by chance that Quad positions Vena II as a “traditional” amplifier of Hi-Fi class, created especially for modern music lovers.

The model received a relatively neutral design that allows it to easily blend into almost any interior, and four variants of finishing the classic Quad color Lancaster Grey, of course, is among them . The result: we face a powerful, compact and functional amplifier, which can equally reliably work with vinyl, CD and modern streaming services. And most importantly, this promising model is available for order right now!
