Mobile apps for home appliances at EuroCucina 2018

Kitchen appliances from all manufacturers are rapidly ā€œgetting smarterā€. Control via Wi-Fi, mobile applications for appliances, recipes automatically updated on gadgets ā€“ this is not news any more, but the daily routine of the industry. This is what the largest European manufacturers of home appliances demonstrated at the international exhibition EuroCucina 2018, which was held in April in Milan, just as the battle with ā€œTelegramā€ broke out in New York.

Samsung: Dual Cook Flex oven communicates with Family Hub refrigerator

Large appliances for the kitchen

Samsung, the debutant of the Milan exhibition, showed the result of intelligent data exchange between the Dual Cook Flex oven and the latest generation of Family Hub refrigerator integrated into the Smart Things smart home system. Itā€™s a Samsung-developed Internet of Things platform that enables seamless communication between any appliance.

Smart Things uses a single app and a single cloud that controls all the smart appliances in the home.

The smart fridge becomes the center of the system and the hub for connecting all the devices in the house. It supports the intelligent Bixby assistant, Meal Planner menu planner, Shopping List app and Recipes recipe storage app. It expands the possibilities in the kitchen and makes cooking easier and more enjoyable.

Indesit Aria built-in appliances

The Turn&Cook mobile app helps you find the right recipe with the right settings for your Indesit appliances.

Just point your smartphone camera to a product you have on hand and the app will automatically recognize it and display a selection of recipes featuring it. Once a product type is identified, a list with recipes compatible with appliances from the Indesit Aria appliance collection will appear.

The Aria line includes several products: built-in ovens, microwave ovens, induction and gas cooktops, and hoods.

Whirlpool ā€œSensing your Worldā€

Electric ovens

Whirlpool showed how the new products ā€œcommunicateā€ with each other, creating a single smart home ecosystem.

Google Assistant allows you to change appliancesā€™ settings with a single voice command. You can set and run cooking programs, ā€œaskā€ the oven how much time is left until the dish is ready, and turn the appliance off.

Products from Whirlpoolā€™s premium W Collection line can now ā€œcommunicateā€ with other remote-controlled appliances.

For example, when the user cooks on an induction hob, the hood automatically detects the degree of air pollution and sets the right power level to clean the room. The hood will also be able to self-start during pyrolytic oven cleaning. In addition, the hood light system can be used to notify users. Different notification signals can be set in the appliance settings: a blinking light will alert you that the dish is ready, or it will tell you that the dishwashing or laundry cycle is over.

Whirlpool 6TH SENSE Live mobile appintegrates remotely controllable Smart Home appliances and creates a single interface for interaction with all appliances in the line. Ovens and hobs have a special menu planning function. Simply specify your food preferences and select suitable recipes from a suggested list, and the app will automatically compile a shopping list and display step-by-step cooking instructions.

Hoover KEEPHEAT

Built-in appliances

Candy Hoover Group presented at the exhibition an oven Hoover KEEPHEAT, which can be controlled with the app Wizard.

Wizard gives you access to a recipe book with a wide range of dishes, diverse ideas and interesting solutions, as well as the ability to monitor and control.

Mobile applications for kitchen appliances are already present in very many manufacturers of all price groups. We hope that we will be able to make full use of them, because it is convenient, easy and greatly improves the quality of life.
