Melitta Arondo coffee maker test

FUNCTIONAL TESTING

WATER TANK CAPACITY MIN./MAX. : not shown.

HEIGHT MEASUREMENT WHEN SERVING COFFEE: 7 cm.

WATER TEMPERATURE: 1 cup – 71 ° C, 3 cup – 72 ° C.

PRESENTING TWO COFFEE Cups AT ONE: the amount of coffee in the cups differs significantly – by more than 3 mm. This may be due to the unevenness of pressing the coffee for each experience.

ASSESSMENT OF THE QUALITY OF THE ESPRESSO: the drink has a pronounced bitter aftertaste – for the connoisseur, the aftertaste is short, with a bitterness. Excessive bitterness probably comes from the system overheating the coffee mixture in the filter. This is also evidenced by the highest beverage temperature in this test in the first cup of coffee. The froth is very beautiful and even, although not all times, but this is the result you can get with this appliance.

EASY TO PREPARE THE MILK FILLER: It’s very easy and comfortable, the foam is working, but the bubbles appear to be too big and it settles faster than I would like it to. The cappuccinator is on the right, the tube “walks” in different planes, but it turned out that the tube should be taken all the way to the right, this is the working position.

THE Dairy FILLER TEST TEST WITH SUGAR : sugar doesn’t last long, in 1 or 2 seconds it starts to sink in.

WEIGHT OF USE: 4 kg.

overall dimensions: 303,5×203,5×274 mm.

POWER SUPPLY CORD LONG: 120 cm.

PRICE: 5900 Dollars.

USABILITY

FILLING THE WATER CUP: everything is very convenient: the tank can be removed to the side, as well as up, by tilting its lid. You can pour water without removing the tank.

MIN./MAX. WATER LEVEL IN TANK: none.

Control Panel MARKING: on the left side there are 2 keys – plug and “coffee-steam” switch. Beside there is a rotary switch for coffee/steam/hot water.

VOLUME OF PROCESSED COFFEE: no. You have to be careful when pouring the coffee not to exceed the prescribed extraction time in the espresso recipe, not to burn the coffee, not to overflow the water. To stop the drink, you need to turn the switch to its original position.

OPERATION MODE INDICATION: On the right side of the control panel you will find the heating indicator light red and operation indicator green . The last indicator shows if the appliance is ready to deliver coffee or steam.

MODEL FEATURES

The model stands out among others with its unusual asymmetric design: the water tank is on the left side, while the control panel, brewing unit and cappuccinator tube are on the right. There is a marmite on top for warming cups. Separate boiling water is available. The set includes 2 filters for 1 and 2 cups. An interesting design of the cone itself: the plastic handle has a handy filter holder. Included as an accessory is a measuring spoon, which has a temperer on the end of the handle for pressing. By the way, while testing this model we faced the fact that the device categorically does not tolerate strongly pressed coffee. As soon as we began to press a little more gently on the coffee, things started to go well, we got beautiful foam and the drink itself served more evenly. Drip tray is equipped with a drip tray indicator that tells you when the drip tray is full. One of the characteristics of this machine is its light weight the body is made of plastic .

SUMMARY

THE MOST CONVENIENT WATER TANK

ADVANTAGES: unusual design, light weight, compact size, ergonomic handle, ease of use, tempura and marmite.

Disadvantages: The taste of espresso can be called controversial, it lacks flavor and softness. It is necessary to try personally, because the taste is always for the taste.
