LG to present one of the largest collections of innovative solutions at IFA 2014

Ahead of IFA 2014, Europe’s largest trade show for household appliances and electronics, taking place in Berlin from September 5-10, LG Electronics LG is unveiling an impressive lineup of products that show how they can be integrated into people’s lives. Embodying the “Innovation for a Better Life” concept, LG continues to position itself as a brand that offers sophisticated and smart solutions in every category of electronics and home appliances, including the world’s first commercial 4K OLED TV, the G Watch R on the Android WearTM operating system, CordZeroTM series vacuum cleaners and appliances that communicate with text messages.

The future of TVs: LG 4K OLED TV

With the world’s first commercial 4K OLED TV, designed in accordance with the most advanced display technology, LG continues to be a leader in the emerging OLED TV market.

At this year’s IFA, LG’s 4K OLED TVs offer superb color reproduction, superb contrast and 4K resolution – 33 million sub-pixels – ushering in a new era of premium viewing experiences with incredibly sharp, detailed images and amazing contrast. Ergonomically curved 4K OLED TV screen for immersive viewing and a wide viewing angle.

Another technological achievement of LG is a 77-inch flexible OLED TV, which allows you to change the degree of curvature depending on the size of the audience and the type of content viewed.

This advanced OLED TV automatically adjusts the sound and picture quality depending on the angle you choose. LG will also show a 55-inch curved OLED TV, the core of which is decorated with Swarovski crystals. Shimmering crystals perfectly complement the vibrant, accurate colors created by LG’s self illuminating pixels, making LG’s new TV an incredibly elegant design.

Better picture quality, smarter features

LG will also introduce a complete line of its ULTRA HD TVs in various sizes, including 49, 55, 65, 79, 84, 98 and 105 inches. LG IPS 4K Panel technology for accurate color reproduction and wide viewing angles, allowing you to enjoy watching TV from virtually anywhere, without a hint of blurred colors and loss of contrast.

A 105-inch curved ULTRA HD TV with a 21:9 cinematic aspect ratio features a 5K screen resolution 5120 x 2160 that includes 30 percent more pixels than conventional 4K TVs. The big screen of this model will help you feel like you are in a real movie theater, also thanks to the 7.2-channel audio system with 150 watts of power.

All LG ULTRA HD TVs will show a variety of Ultra HD content, made possible through partnerships with content providers such as Netflix, Amazon and Wuaki, as well as Ultra HD shows for European viewers through partnerships with Filmbox Live, Maxdome, videociety and Okko.

Also in partnership with France Televisions, the world’s first Ultra HD content will be broadcast exclusively on LG Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV HbbTV . Thanks to the True 4K Engine, content in standard definition SD or high definition HD can be enhanced to almost 4K quality for even greater viewing pleasure.

The webOS Smart+ platform on all LG OLED and ULTRA HD televisions provides easy and intuitive access to a world of entertainment. WebOS offers easy browsing and selection of content, allowing you to easily switch between applications, services, live broadcasts or content stored on external devices.

Animated webOS animated BeanBird character makes setting up and connecting your TV easy and intuitive. Visitors to the IFA show will be able to create their own BeanBird characters on LG’s large video wall.

As an additional surprise LG will present at IFA its first 8K 7680 x 4320 TV 98 inches diagonal, which boasts 16 times greater resolution than Full HD televisions and four times greater than conventional 4K models.

Wearable devices ahead of time

Continuing the success of the LG G Watch, one of the first wearable accessories on Android Wear™, LG aims to become a leader in this segment, combining classic design and advanced technology. The new LG G Watch R will be the first accessory with a round plastic OLED P-OLED screen, designed in the style of a traditional watch, using 100% of the display surface.

The latest Android Wear™ model features a classic look embodied in a rugged and durable stainless steel case with a collection of watch faces that can be changed at the touch of a finger.

KizON, a wearable accessory in the form of a bracelet for children, embodies LG’s commitment not only to creating innovative products but also to taking care of the whole family. KizON, designed specifically for preschool and elementary school-aged children, allows parents to keep their own peace of mind by tracking their children’s location in real time, using information from the child’s device to the adult’s smartphone.

The complete line of G3 smartphones

IFA 2014 will also feature the complete G3 smartphone series, consisting of the G3 Beat G3 s , G Vista and G3 Stylus, as well as the acclaimed G3. Embodying LG’s desire to offer a unified level of usability across all segments, these smartphones carry the premium design and usage capabilities of the original LG G3, as well as being packed with key G3 features – all at a reasonable price without sacrificing quality.

G3 Beat called G3 s in Europe and CIS in a compact body is equipped with premium technologies, including laser auto-focus, a screen with a diagonal of 5 inches and thin bezels around the display.

The G Vista smartphone provides all the entertainment you can enjoy on the go with its wide screen 5.7-inch and a range of benefits inherited from the G3. The new G3 Stylus smartphone features a roomy 5.With a 5-inch IPS screen and RubberdiumTM stylus, for those who want to take notes and sketch by hand.

Smart home with natural language capabilities

The Smart Home concept, which will be presented at the LG booth at IFA 2014, embodies the idea of combining different smart home appliances into a single, connected system to improve convenience and ease of use.

At its core is LG HomeChat™, a revolutionary messaging platform that delivers unparalleled control and connectivity of home appliances for amazing results. With the smartphone, family members can enjoy unprecedented control over the entire smart ecosystem in the home, as well as an intelligent time and energy-saving system through modes such as “Outside,” “Coming Home” or “Vacation.

LG Smart Home is compatible with existing home systems based on open platforms, as well as appliances and devices from other manufacturers through open protocols such as AllJoyn, software funded by the AllSeen Alliance. AllJoyn helps users stay up to date on the performance status of their LG appliances. For example, when the washing machine finishes, it sends a notification to the LG webOS Smart-based TV+.

Smarter and more energy-efficient home appliances

At IFA 2014 LG will present its whole range of household appliances designed to offer maximum convenience and outstanding energy efficiency as well as to meet the high expectations of European consumers.

A key element of the collection will be the new CordZero™ family of premium cordless vacuum cleaners, including the CordZero™ dust bin, CordZero™ 2-in-1, HOM-BOT SQUARE robotic vacuum cleaner and CordZero™ Bedding for bedding and mattress cleaning.

As the CordZero™ Series name suggests, these models deliver powerful, easy-to-clean cleaning without fussy wires, thanks to the innovative Smart Inverter Motor™ and advanced rechargeable batteries.

LG will also unveil its new energy-efficient refrigerator models, which not only save energy significantly, but also run quieter, keeping food fresher longer.

For example, the bottom freezer model with Total No Frost exceeds Class A energy-efficiency requirements by 20 percent+++. LG’s newest washer and dryer to be unveiled at IFA 2014 completes a full wash cycle in just 49 minutes and exceeds the A+++ energy class requirement by 55 percent with TurboWash™ technology.

LG Studio is an impressively modern and elegant set of built-in kitchen appliances designed for Europe’s most demanding customers. It includes refrigerators, electric ovens, dishwashers and various types of electric hoods.
