It is an integral part of the quality control process where each unit must undergo a number of tests, including long playback, multiple on and off times, and channel switching, all to ensure performance and durability. At a later stage, additional tests are conducted: Each new TV set is placed in a simulated viewing environment, which serves as an additional quality check.
