LG Electronics LG is presenting at the IEEE International Communication Conference ICC 2022 a wide range of innovative mobility technologies, including 6G connected car solutions and artificial intelligence. This year’s ICC will be held from May 16th to 20th at COEX Expo Center in Seoul, South Korea. The theme of the 2022 conference is “Intelligent Communications for a Smart World,” and the format is hybrid: it combines a physical exhibition and offline attendance with virtual content and online participation.
ICC is one of the IEEE Communications Society’s two leading conferences, with nearly 2,000 attendees from more than 70 countries. In addition to the exhibition, each year the event consists of interesting keynote speeches, technical sessions, and informative seminars and industry discussions.
In line with the ICC 2022 theme of smart connectivity, LG is showcasing the OMNIPOD concept car, a fully autonomous, connected vehicle that can become an extension of a living or working space. The LG OMNIPOD features a unique floor-to-ceiling Meta-environment Screen and a host of other advanced technologies tailored to the unique needs of passengers. OMNIPOD is the mobile solution of the future that completely redefines the experience of being in a car and allows it to be used as an office or recording studio, a video editing office, or even a recreation room.
In addition, LG is showcasing its world-class 6G communication technologies, including a full-duplex radio transmission and reception design that maximizes frequency efficiency, and a power amplification device co-developed with the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI for 6G THz wireless transmission and reception. The company is also introducing the Soft V2X V2X stands for “vehicle for everything” smartphone solution, which allows the vehicle to communicate in real time with nearby vehicles, pedestrians and infrastructure to create a safer driving environment. Among the other technologies LG is showcasing at the IEEE ICC conference is an artificial intelligence chip that can be used in a variety of home appliances for smart living.

On May 17 at ICC, LG Electronics CTO Kim Byung-hoon will deliver a keynote address, “Technological advances in communications and software-defined architecture for smart mobility.”. Mr. Kim will present the company’s focus on the transition to software-defined vehicles SDV and its latest solutions and services based on SDV and intelligent mobility technology.
