LG to expand production of home appliances in Europe

New production lines in Wroclaw allow LG to better respond to the needs and demands of local customers. The main advantage is the reduction of delivery time. Previously, washing machines and most of the refrigerators were shipped from Korea and China, so it took more than a month to get to Europe.

With the opening of the new factory in Wroclaw, the maximum delivery time for deliveries throughout Europe will be only five days, and even less for closer locations. Supply chain costs will also fall as shipping, storage and operations costs are reduced.

The local economy has already benefited from the expansion: 800 additional workers have been hired and the number of local business partners has risen by 36 percent.

“The Wroclaw plant will be the cornerstone for LG to become the No. 1 brand in the refrigerator and washing machine categories in Europe,” said Young-ha Lee, President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Appliance. – “Our new production lines will allow us to produce more products that meet the high standards of European manufacturers, right here in the same area where they will be operated.”.

This will increase production and meet the strong demand for front-loading washing machines with Inverter Direct Drive technology and the 12-kilogram 6 Motion Direct Drive.
