At IFA-2011, LG Electronics LG is introducing a broad line of its smart home appliances for the first time in Europe. LG demonstrates what economy and comfort can be achieved in everyday life of a consumer with a âsmartâ refrigerator, âsmartâ washing machine, âsmartâ oven and âsmartâ robot-vacuum cleaner.
LG relies on four key technologies to create its smart home appliances â Linear Compressorâ˘, Inverter Direct Driveâ˘, Lightwave and KOMPRESSOR⢠dust-pressing technology â as well as its Smart ThinQ⢠technology, including Smart Manager, Smart Diagnosisâ˘, Smart Access, Smart Adapt and Smart Grid. Combined with LG product features, these unique technologies deliver eco-friendly operation while saving energy, effort and time.
Energy-efficient smart refrigerator features Smart Manager technology that indicates location, expiration dates, quantities and nutritional information. Smart Manager allows you to efficiently monitor the contents of your refrigerator or check whatâs left in it using your smartphone right from the grocery store.
The fridge recommends tasty dishes that can be prepared with the ingredients it contains and even offers entertainment features such as news, music and social networking.
LG unveils Smart Eco Door, the worldâs first door-in-door fridge-freezer at the IFA. A smaller door built into a regular door provides simplified access to the most popular products, helping to reduce energy consumption.
In addition to smart appliances, LG will showcase an ultra-energy-efficient A+++ bottom freezer fridge â the first model with a 385-litre capacity at such a high level of energy efficiency.

LG will also introduce Smart Diagnosisâ˘, which helps to troubleshoot appliances quickly and efficiently through a phone or smartphone app, thereby reducing the need for inconvenient and sometimes costly service calls and house calls. And the Smart Access feature creates added convenience by allowing you to control appliances remotely via your smartphone.
Consumers can spend less time cleaning their apartment by turning their robotic vacuum cleaner on and off and watching it while away from home. Smart Adapt function allows consumers to download new, advanced programs and update the software of their devices.
LG smart washing machine users can load new custom wash cycles, such as Super Rinse or Baby Sanitize. Smart Adapt gives customers all the benefits of LGâs latest technology without having to buy new equipment. So consumers can keep their appliances state-of-the-art throughout their entire life cycle.
The 12kg front-loading washer, featuring LG technologies such as Direct Drive, 6 Motion and TrueSteamâ˘, combines the highest capacity in standard sizes with 20 per cent more energy efficiency than conventional Class A washers+++. In addition, this washing machine is reliable and environmentally friendly.
Another exhibit at the fair is LGâs revolutionary vacuum cleaner with smart sensors which meticulously and easily cleans following the userâs lead.
The award-winning Lightwave Convection Oven uses a world-first Charcoal Lighting Heaterâ˘, an extremely natural element that helps cook gourmet foods naturally, healthily and easily.
LG Styler is a new concept of a clothes manager, which takes care of everyday clothes, eliminating creases and unpleasant odors, as well as sterilizing them with steam. LG will also exhibit stylish, harmonious built-in appliances that represent the culmination of the companyâs four core technologies.
