Protecting personal data and all types of business information is more important than ever – more than 81% of all data breaches last year were due to weak or compromised passwords, with phishing attacks increasing in frequency by 65%.

A more secure method of authentication is now available to users: you can log in to websites using a fingerprint scanner through the Universal Authentication Framework UAF or a button on the screen through the Universal 2nd Factor U2F . With these built-in FIDO authentication methods, websites receive fully protected security keys, greatly enhancing the protection of personal information and preventing fraud.

  • UAF-fingerprint authentication: a fingerprint scanner built into the case of a PC makes it easy to log in to PayPal’s personal page.
  • U2F with built-in 2-factor authentication: the scanner can also serve as an additional security factor beyond the use of a standard ID and password. Unlike individual security keys or SMS codes, an additional authentication factor is built into the PC, ensuring better protection of personal data and making it easier to log in to accounts at Google, Facebook, Dropbox and other partner services.

Partner services that are used to authenticate to third-party sites have also benefited from the integration. With authentication built right into the PC, they can offer enhanced security measures to the millions of people who use their computers every day to access social media, bank accounts and online shopping.
