Leica DG Summilux 15 mm / F1 fixed focal length lens.7 ASPH (H-X015)

Panasonic introduces the Leica DG Summilux 15 mm/F1 lens.7 ASPH 30mm in 35mm camera equivalent , designed for the Lumix G family of cameras based on the Micro Four Thirds standard. Thanks to its excellent aperture ratio, the lens enables beautifully blurred backgrounds. Despite its top optical quality, the Leica DG Summilux 15 mm F1.7 ASPH features compact size and minimal weight.

Photo lenses

The optical scheme of the lens consists of 9 elements in 7 groups and includes 3 aspherical lenses, which not only effectively suppress spherical aberrations and distortions, but also allowed to significantly reduce the size of the lens. Nanocoating with an extremely low refractive index reduces glare across the entire visible light range 380 nm – 780 nm for exceptional image sharpness.

The lens features an internal focus system that guarantees excellent resolution and contrast throughout the entire focusing range. And a new stepper motor has improved its smooth operation and reduced noise, which is important for both still and video photography. With its bright lenses, the contrast AF system is faster than the phase AF system, so this fix, thanks to its brightness, is a perfect match for the Lumix G-series cameras. There is also an aperture ring on the lens body and a switch that allows you to select manual or auto focus.

The sturdy metal mount and superior optical quality make this lens a member of the prestigious Leica family. New Leica DG Summilux 15mm F1.7 ASPH will be available separately or with the Lumix DMC-GM1 digital mirrorless camera GM1L Kit .

Available in June 2014.
