Legrand announces smart devices for climate control and prevention of viral diseases

Legrand Group launches smart climate devices in America: a weather station with precipitation and wind speed measurement modules, as well as indoor air quality monitoring station. New models are already available. They are part of the Netatmo brandā€™s expanded IoT product portfolio and can provide you with accurate outdoor and indoor climate data, as well as the best possible conditions for preventing viral diseases.

Advanced weather station in your home

The Legrand weather station measures precisely climatic and other ambient parameters every five minutes, charts their variations and makes weather forecasts. The system alerts the user with a warning if any parameter deviates from normal values. Collected data, statistics and forecasts in a simple and clear form displayed on a smartphone, tablet or computer. The weather station synchronizes with Netatmo Weather mobile app available for Android and iOS , supports Apple HomeKit smart home control platform and works with Alexa voice assistant.

Comes with wireless outdoor module that analyzes temperature and humidity outside the window and operates in the temperature range from -40Ā°C to 65Ā°C. Up to three optional indoor units can be installed in your home to monitor temperature, humidity, pressure, carbon dioxide, and noise levels. Modules are available in a durable aluminum housing with a modern minimalist design. They are connected by Wi-Fi and can transmit the data to the weather station from a distance of up to 100 meters.

You can extend the capabilities of the system by connecting a precipitation measurement module. With it, the weather station can send alerts when it rains, transmit data in real time about how much rain has fallen in an hour, and use that information to compile charts with statistics.

It is also possible to connect anemometer to Legrand smart weather station. This module registers real-time wind speed and direction, including gusty wind. Ultrasound technology helps to achieve the highest measurement accuracy possible. Using the data from the module, the weather station can send notifications when a certain wind speed is reached, display measurement statistics and calculate the air temperature that a person on the street will feel, taking into account all climatic factors.

Both extra modules are well protected against water, snow, hail, strong winds and UV radiation. Owners of a Legrand smart weather station get access to Netatmo Weathermap, the worldā€™s largest personal weather station user community. It collects and distributes outdoor temperature, precipitation and wind data from 170 countries. This information is used by leading meteorological organizations to improve the accuracy of weather forecasts.

Monitoring of indoor air ā€“ the way to health of the whole family

Smart indoor air quality monitoring station measures noise, carbon dioxide, humidity and temperature. The station will warn you when these conditions are getting worse and give you advice on how to change the microclimate, e.g. to avoid the spread of viral infections ventilation of the room, lowering or raising the humidity . Following the cues of the smart device, the user can create a comfortable environment to improve the overall tonus of the body,

maintaining productivity in the ā€œhome officeā€, improving the quality of sleep and quality of life in general. If desired, it will be possible to connect several Netatmo multi-room smart stations into one network and place them in different rooms, which will help to find the optimum balance of parameters for each room and minimize the negative factors that can affect a personā€™s well-being.

The device is controlled by the Healthy Home Coach app available for Android and iOS . It has three profiles to choose from: general, for families with children, or for asthmatics. This will determine your climate targets and the systemā€™s personal recommendations for your home. The unit also supports the Apple HomeKit ā€œsmart homeā€ platform.

ā€œThese days, with the pandemic, people are becoming more and more responsible about their well-being and the health of their loved ones. We spend more time at home, which of course affects our well-being and mood. For example, poor indoor ventilation or neglecting to ventilate can significantly reduce concentration, lead to headaches and fatigue, greatly reducing our productivity in the ā€œhome officeā€ environment. And, even more dangerously, can allow the virus to stay longer in its active phase if itā€™s already present in the air. Netatmo smart climate units can help solve these problems. Air quality monitoring station will remind you when itā€™s time to air the room, turn on the humidifier or readjust the conditioner in the nursery. And a weather station doesnā€™t let the weather catch you unawares,ā€ says Ivan Krohmalny, development director of Legrand America and CIS.
