A renowned manufacturer of portable multimedia devices, iriver, announces the launch in America of a high-quality Hi-Fi player AK100 with built-in digital-to-analog converter. The company’s first compact player to deliver studio-standard MQS quality playback at 24-bit/192kHz. The ability to play back tracks that are saved just as they were born in the studio, allows lovers of premium audio to truly enjoy deep and detailed sound anywhere, anytime.
MQS recordings are directly stored during mastering and therefore are lossless and free of compression artifacts. Tracks in studio quality 24-bit/192 kHz allow you to experience the fullness of sound, unlike MP3 and CD-records, which parameters are significantly lowered: up to 128 – 320 kbps and 16 bit/44.1 kHz. At the same time Hi-Fi player iriver AK100 plays MQS-audio without external decoders, which makes the sound almost perfect.
The iriver AK100 weighs only 122 grams. Rugged aluminum casing protects the gadget from possible damage and the 2.4-inch touchscreen display makes it convenient and comfortable to operate. It has 32 gigabytes of internal memory for storing audio recordings.
But because MQS recordings take up so much space, the iriver AK100 is equipped with two microSD card slots. As a result, the user can expand the total storage capacity of the player up to an impressive 96 GB! Built-in 2000 mAh battery provides up to 16 hours of continuous battery life.
Inside the unit there is a powerful Wolfson WM8740 digital to analogue converter, which is very popular with audio enthusiasts because of its superior signal-to-noise ratio and very low level of harmonic distortion. Wolfson WM8740 DAC with its many unique features delivers breathtakingly bright, clear and detailed sound.
A separate optical input on the AK100 body makes it easy to turn it into an external DAC for computer or desktop audio player, making it an important link between your audio source and headphones or speakers.
The iriver AK100 hi-fi player can play tracks in WAV, FLAC, WMA, OGG, APE and MP3 formats. A built-in 10-band virtual equalizer gives you even more flexibility to customize the player and achieve the sound quality you prefer.
“We wanted it to appeal to true audio lovers who can’t get enough of Lossless audio,” says James Lee, iriver’s international marketing and sales manager.
“I am confident that the combination of excellent audio capabilities, quality build, great design, timely technical support and a fairly affordable price for this class of device will make the AK100 very popular among recording professionals and quality audio enthusiasts alike.”
The iriver AK100 doesn’t include headphones. This is made specially so that users could choose a suitable model without overpaying for excessive equipment.
The iriver experts have tested the AK100 with a variety of headphone models. Most suitable for use with the new player were Denon AH-D7100, AudioTechnica ATH-W3000ANV, BeyerDinamic DT1350, Shure SRH840 and Shure SE425.
Compact and functional Hi-Fi player iriver AK100 has already been on sale in the American Federation. Approximate retail price of the device is 22 000 Dollars.
