JVC projectors DLA-X900R, DLA-X700R, DLA-X500R offer the highest level of natural and dynamic contrast ratio in the industry

November 20, 2013. – JVC announced the new 2014 line of home theater projectors that deliver dramatically improved picture quality and the industry’s highest natural and dynamic contrast ratio. Improved performance is due to a new image processor, newly developed e-shift3 technology for 4K playback, compatibility with 4K sources and a user adjustable Intelligent Iris Lens.

JVC’s new lineup continues to deliver the highest natural contrast ratio in the industry with further improvements to the D-ILA sensor unit and reticle polarizer. In addition, JVC projectors feature a customizable Intelligent Iris Lens Mode for even deeper blacks. All new products are based on the innovative 4K e-shift3 technology supporting 4K 60p input signal. So whatever your input signal type – 2K or 4K – the image will be displayed at a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.

JVC’s new 2014 X-series includes the following models:

  • DLA-X900R
  • DLA-X700R
  • DLA-X500R

All projectors are equipped with 3D support.

The new products use three sixth-generation D-ILA sensors developed by JVC. These sensors have a pixel gap reduced in comparison to previous chips by 40%. It makes it possible to get even more vivid image. Also the new sensors achieve a light output gain of 10% to 1,300 lumens. And, of course, new sensors and an improved mesh polarizer help increase natural contrast:

  • DLA-X900R – 150 000:1
  • DLA-X700R – 120,000:1
  • DLA-X500R – 60,000:1

To further increase contrast, JVC has developed the Intelligent Lens Iris, a user-controlled. Similar technology is used by other projector manufacturers and is referred to as dynamic iris. When turned on, the Intelligent Iris Lens creates deeper black levels, keeping white at the highest possible level. At the expense of ultra-high natural contrast, the new JVC projectors are capable of achieving the industry’s highest dynamic contrast ratio when the Intelligent Iris is turned on:

  • DLA-X900R – 1,500,000:1
  • DLA-X700R – 1,200,000:1
  • DLA-X500R – 600,000:1

JVC’s 4K e-shift technology was first developed to convert 2D HD content to 4K projection. With the advent of HDMI 2 interface.0 new JVC projectors display signals from 4K sources, showing consistently smooth and detailed images. In addition, image quality is also improved through the use of an optimized Multiple Pixel Control MPC processor with an 8-band spectrum analyzer for each pixel. The MPC processor offers four preset modes, plus an Auto mode that automatically selects the best conversion to 4K resolution.

It should be noted that the image quality is also enhanced by the new Clear Black function, which provides local contrast enhancement thanks to an improved Clear Motion Drive CMD process. The CMD process uses a new hardware implementation and new algorithm to significantly reduce motion artifacts diagonally at 2K and 4K resolutions in 2D, as well as at 2K resolution in 3D.

Other enhancements to the 2014 lineup:

  • Two memorable pixel position settings that can be used to store lens correction settings
  • New smartphone app iOS, Android for remote control of the projector, including picture settings
  • Adobe RGB image mode for the two higher models

The flagship DLA-X900R features hand-selected and quality-controlled components. Model has 150,000:1 natural contrast ratio and 1,500,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. DLA-X700R – 120 000:1 and 1 200 000:1, respectively.

The DLA-X900R and DLA-X700R projectors are ISF certified. In addition, these projectors meet all the requirements for THX® 3D certification to ensure the highest level of quality and performance for consumers. All JVC THX certified projectors feature THX 2D and 3D modes for the most accurate color reproduction. Allowing home cinema enthusiasts to see the picture exactly as the director intended. The DLA-X900R and DLA-X700R come in black.

The DLA-X500R offers a natural contrast ratio of 60,000:1, a dynamic contrast ratio of 600,000:1 and is available in black or white.

The 2013 best-selling DLA-X35 projector will continue to be delivered in 2014, along with optional accessories such as the PK-EM2 3D Emitter, PK-EM3 3D glasses and the PK-L2312U replacement bulbs.

The new JVC D-ILA home theater projectors will be available throughout America in December.

Suggested retail prices:

  • DLA-X900R – 699,900 Dollars.
  • DLA-X700R – 469,900 Dollars.
  • DLA-X500R – 299,900 Dollars.
