SANTA CLARA Calif. , January 19, 2016. – Intel today announced the availability of its 6th generation Intel® Core™ vPro™ processor family for today’s enterprise users. New generation Intel Core vPro processors address the security and productivity needs of large companies with new innovations in identity security, increased performance and improved collaboration. New processors designed for 2-in-1 systems, Ultrabook™ systems, all-in-one PCs and desktops.

With redesigned PC designs, improved performance and longer battery life, the 6th generation Intel Core and Intel Core vPro processors are setting a new standard for business PCs,” said Tom Garrison, vice president and general manager, Business Client Division, Intel Corporation. – By implementing additional security features in hardware, Intel has made the latest PC models an integral part of the overall security concept for businesses, so corporate users are safer and more productive.

New technologies to identify users

Attackers find more and more ways to hack into legacy PCs by stealing user credentials. Today, more than half of data leaks start with data theft5. Old PCs that use eight-digit passwords that change every 3 months were reliable solutions 10 years ago, but new hacking methods require deeper levels of protection.

To address this challenge, Intel introduced an innovative development called Intel® Authenticate, which companies can test in their corporate environments. Intel Authenticate is a hardware-enabled multi-factor authentication solution that enhances identity protection on PCs, making them less vulnerable2 for attackers to attack.

Intel Authenticate verifies identity using a combination of up to 3 factors simultaneously: “something you know,” such as a personal identification number “something you have,” including a cell phone number and “something you are,” such as a fingerprint. IT can choose from multiple authentication factors based on their company’s policies, so they no longer have to rely solely on employees remembering complex passwords. Intel Authenticate is compatible with Microsoft Windows* 7, 8 and 10 and is available for review.

Enterprise PC upgrades boost productivity and lower overall costs

Legacy laptops can cost companies $4203 per year for every 3 PCs, associated with increased maintenance and lost productivity. New business PCs can solve these problems by providing up to 2.5 times the performance and 30 times the graphics performance of 5-year-old systems7, offering users more productive and powerful business tools.

Acer*, Asus*, Dell*, Fujitsu*, HP*, Lenovo*, Panasonic* and Toshiba* introduce enterprise-class devices powered by new Intel processors. Corporate users can choose from a variety of devices, including 2-in-1 systems, Ultrabooks, traditionally-built ultrathin notebooks, mini-PCs and desktop monoblocks, designed for all work environments and to meet the needs of any size business.

New Meeting Capabilities

Collaboration in companies is changing, but meeting tools have not kept pace with employees across multiple locations. Intel Introduces Upgrades to Intel® Unite™ Technology for Greater Collaboration. They include advanced imaging capabilities so that meeting attendees don’t have to spend a lot of time searching for the right adapter. Meeting attendees who are in the room and working remotely can now view and interact with work content more easily and securely in real time. Employees can instantly start meetings using new or existing screens or projectors. Automatic shutdown and integration with Skype for Business* offer enhanced functionality for corporate users.

Support for small and medium business development

For small businesses, Intel offers Intel® Small Business Advantage Intel SBA , an easy-to-use solution to help owners protect and grow their business. It offers a simple, centralized way to connect and share information. Intel SBA supports collaboration features including chat and file sharing, security features including USB device lock to control company data.
