In the circle of easy breathing: Dyson introduces Air Multiplier™ humidifier technology

Dyson introduces new Dyson AM10 humidifier with Air Multiplier™ technology for uniform distribution of humidified air and special Ultraviolet Cleanse technology, which destroys 99.9% of bacteria in water. The Dyson AM10 humidifier spreads clean, humidified air around the room efficiently and quietly to help keep you healthy in winter. And an extra fan mode to keep your cool in summer.

The average person breathes in 22,000 breaths a day. But inhaling dry air can worsen respiratory problems in people with allergies. The body is also at risk of contracting viral infections. In winter the air is especially dry and suddenly you have a whole range of problems: chapped lips, dehydrated skin. In addition, there is the danger of catching colds.

Launch coincides with a new report published by the Skin Health Alliance, which assesses the impact of indoor humidity on humans. According to the report, low air humidity can affect the skin in different ways: for example, reducing the moisture content of the stratum corneum can result in skin flaking, texture degradation, decreased elasticity and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Some secrets about humidifiers

Despite possible health benefits, modern humidifiers may not always be hygienic. Some of them do not treat the water at all and spread the bacteria from the water container to the room and then to the respiratory tract. Many humidifiers are also not capable of uniformly distributing humidified air throughout the room.

Dyson patented technology

Unlike other humidifiers, which can harbour and spread bacteria around the home, every drop of water in a Dyson humidifier is UV-irradiated, eliminating 99.9% of bacteria in the water before it enters the air.

Thanks to intelligent climate control, the Dyson humidifier is able to measure both temperature and humidity. At the touch of a button on the remote control, the device senses the maximum comfortable level of humidity in the room. One full container of water gives up to 18 hours of continuous operation.

Piezoelectric transducer at the base of the device vibrates at a frequency of 1.7 million times per second and splits water into microscopic particles, which pass through the aerodynamic profile and get into the air by using the Air Multiplier™ technology.

James Dyson:

“Humidifiers are a means to create a more hygienic environment in the home. By using patented UV cleaning technology, our humidifier kills up to 99.9% of the bacteria in the unit until the humidified air spreads evenly throughout the room.”.

A statement from the Skin Health Alliance notes the following: “Skin acts as a vital barrier to the body’s. Keeping skin cells healthy by maintaining optimal moisture levels. Skin Health Alliance SHA partnered with a world-class brand for the first time to create a new device that delivers skin health benefits by humidifying the air. SHA has established an independent accreditation system that allows customers to verify that the products they use are safe and meet the advertised specifications.
