America’s first small-format IKEA store will open in the Aviapark shopping center in New York at the end of May 2018. Lease agreement has already been signed by Aviapark and the retailer. This store will be a design studio and ordering station, with a focus on kitchen and storage systems.
The new format is another step towards an effective multi-channel sales structure.
The opening of the design studio is supposed to improve accessibility of IKEA’s offer for 5 million people living in the area covered by AVIApark. The high level of accessibility is provided by the proximity of AVIAparka to the center of the city, metro CSKA, and to the major transport arteries of the capital – Leningradskoe highway and TTR.
The area of the new store will exceed 300 sq. m.m. It will present the company’s solutions for home furnishings. Visitors will be able to design a kitchen or modular storage system with the help of the company’s specialists. Also in the new store you can order your favorite solutions and other products from IKEA online store and have them delivered to your home.
