HP is transforming the wide format printing process with the introduction of new user-friendly printers: the Designjet T920 and T1500

New York, June 5, 2013. – HP has introduced two Internet-connectable printer models that will change the process of large-format printing with a new ergonomic design that provides increased comfort for people in architecture, engineering, construction and design.

Today’s professionals are more mobile than ever, moving between offices, construction sites and airports. In addition, working on design projects requires close collaboration between colleagues in different time zones.

The new HP Designjet T920 and T1500 series ePrinter printers help busy workgroups deliver projects more efficiently by enabling fast, reliable printing of drawings and sketches at all stages. The devices support remote access, viewing and printing of documents uploaded to cloud storage, facilitating fruitful collaboration with remote employees and teams.

The 91-cm 36-inch wide devices were developed with input from users of wide format printers. They pointed out to the designers all the shortcomings they had encountered before, after and during the printing of their documents. Based on this data, HP selected the receiving tray and front-loading system for improvement.

The new receiving tray changes the way the finished large-format prints look. Top-mounted, built-in Storage Tray produces neat, orderly prints. New receiving system improves productivity by reducing time wasted searching and sorting prints and by eliminating the need for users to bend down to pick up printed sheets.

Thanks to a new design, the printers have a flat top surface that serves as a convenient viewing table to control finished prints. Designed for wall mounting, the printer is front-loaded for easy, convenient roll loading. An equally important feature of the printers is the fastest print speed in this market segment (1 .

“With the HP Designjet T1500 at our fingertips, we can quickly create presentations and work on projects in the very last minute before delivery,” says Gerardo Salinas, partner, Rojkind Architects. – The ability to sort prints and organize print queues allows us to print drawings and plans more efficiently. Our team got an extra competitive edge and the business became more dynamic and stronger”.

Greater ease of use is the result of user-driven innovation

Compact HP Designjet T920 ePrinter eliminates output confusion for small and medium-sized teams thanks to its built-in storage tray, which can sort up to 50 A4 and A0-size sheets. Front-loading and automatic paper roll alignment greatly simplify print material handling. Fast A1/D prints in as little as 21 seconds and 32 GB of virtual storage helps you easily process and print complex files faster 1 .

Ideal for multi-user work environments, the HP Designjet T1500 ePrinter supports dual-roll loading, while automatic media alignment and intelligent media switching allow you to distribute the flow of heterogeneous jobs to different media types and formats. Double the processing power of its predecessor with a parallel processor and 320 GB hard drive, allowing you to print multiple files at once.

HP Designjet T920 and T1500 ePrinters feature intuitive full-color touch-screen displays, giving you added control and control over print queue, print cost tracking(2 And see real images of the files you print. A 6-color ink palette and genuine HP printheads ensure deep blacks, neutral grays, vivid, realistic colors and crisp lines.

“Our customers are constantly looking for the most efficient and comfortable tools to bring their ideas to life,” said Ramon Pastor, vice president and general manager, Wide Format Printing, HP. – Thirty years after launching its first large-format printer, HP continues to provide design, architecture, engineering and construction professionals with innovative, new solutions for wide format printing. This time, unique features that will transform the office wide format printing process include an integrated accumulation tray and true front-end loading of rolls. Our innovations make printing easier and allow for more creative use of working time.”.

The HP Designjet ePrinter line of large-format printers supports the free HP Designjet ePrint & Share web service, making it easy to view and print large-format documents using Android or iOS tablets and smartphones, as well as notebooks and touchscreen displays of the ePrinter family printers themselves(3 .

In conjunction with HP Designjet ePrint & Share, Internet-connected HP Designjet T920 and T1500 ePrinters let you automatically save copies of projects to the cloud while you print(3 . You can send PDF and other print-ready files to the printer via email(3 , Using the printer’s dedicated e-mail address.
