Holga, known for its pinhole cameras, has released a new product called the Holga Printer. Features all-mechanical control and no electronics, including the battery.
The printer allows you to print photos taken on your smartphone, and uses Fujifilm Instax mini film as the print media. You can take pictures using the application, which is available to impose filters and effects, as well as easy editing.
To print a photograph, you must lay out a special screen which serves as a protection against light penetration and sets the necessary distance to the film. Then place your smartphone on top of this screen, with the screen facing down, and secure it in the frame for easy positioning. Press the lever that acts like a shutter button and take the photo by scrolling the wheel on the side.
On the bottom of the printer is a frame counter and the cover of the compartment in which the film is loaded. When folded down, the printer measures 57mm high, 146mm long and 109mm wide, making it a fairly compact device, while weighing in at 360gr.
Price and availability
The Holga Printer is currently available for pre-order via Kickstarter, where the company has organized a fundraiser for its production. The printer will cost $55 to early customers and is scheduled to ship in March 2019

This sounds interesting, but how does the portable photo printer operate without a battery?
The portable photo printer typically operates using a rechargeable battery. However, some models can also function without a battery by directly connecting to a power source such as a laptop or power bank through a USB cable. These printers utilize the power from the external source to print photos. It’s important to check the specifications of the specific printer model to determine if it requires a battery or not.
The Holga portable photo printer sounds amazing, but how does it work without a battery? Are there any limitations to its functionality or quality? Would love to know more about this innovative technology!
