Highscreen Alpha Tab 8.1-inch tablet with a 4-core processor, 3G modem with voice communication and GPS-receiver starts selling

The American brand Highscreen, presents its first tablet computer – Highscreen Alpha Tab. Previously the brand specialized exclusively in DVRs and smartphones, including the so-called phablets – smartphones with a diagonal of 5.5 inches and larger. Despite the fact that the Highscreen Alpha Tab is a tablet, it can also serve as a full-fledged smartphone: thanks to 3G-modem model allows you to make calls, exchange SMS, etc. By using a widescreen with “smartphone” resolution 1280 x 720 instead of the usual 8-inch tablet 1024 x 768 , developers have managed to reduce the width of the device: it is 132 mm against the standard 145-155. This leads to the fact that the Highscreen Alpha Tab really hold with one hand, without crossing the line of discomfort. Among other features of the device should be noted GPS-receiver, quad-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz and the operating system Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

Highscreen Alpha Tab tablet

Highscreen brand introduced its first phablet “phablet”, “smartphone-planet, a hybrid of smartphone and tablet long before the appearance of generally recognized progenitor of this class – Samsung Galaxy Note. The product of the Korean manufacturer entered the market in 2011, and the 5-inch[1] Highscreen Hippo model based on Windows Mobile 6.5 – back in 2010, that is, a year before the “Korean. The next phablet brand appeared on sale in May 2013 – we are talking about an Android model Highscreen Alpha GTX with a 5.7-inch display.

As for “purebred” tablets, back in late 2012, Highscreen did not plan to[2] to develop such devices: at that time there was no way to offer the market something qualitatively new, and the release of another banal “tablet” was contrary to the strategy of the brand – Highscreen is primarily a brand of unusual gadgets.

The Alpha Tab, our new product today, is the first full-fledged tablet computer from the Highscreen brand. The model has a close relationship with smartphones, due to which the developers managed to implement a number of useful features and markedly improve ergonomic indicators.

The vast majority of 8-inch tablets have a screen with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. This leads to an increase in the width of the devices – they are quite difficult to hold with one hand. The Highscreen Alpha Tab uses an 8.1-inch display, but is widescreen 16:9 and has a “smartphone resolution of 1280 x 720 dots. As a result, the width of the device has decreased from the usual tablet form factor 8” 145-155 mm to 132 mm. Highscreen Alpha Tab is quite comfortable to hold in one hand when the second is busy working with the touchscreen.

Highscreen Alpha Tab has a 3G modem with voice and text messaging capabilities, that is, the tablet can act as a smartphone. Alpha Tab can be used for calls both with and without Bluetooth-headset – by putting it to your ear. Completes the picture satellite GPS-receiver, which is still not found in all tablets under 10 thousand Dollars.

The basis of the model is a chipset MediaTek MT8389, which includes a 4-core 1.2 GHz central processing unit with ARM Cortex-A7 architecture and a PowerVR SGX544 graphics gas pedal.

Highscreen Alpha Tab has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, a 5-megapixel main camera, a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera and a 3,600 mAh battery. The tablet is running one of the current versions of Android – 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

Alpha Tab will go on sale at the end of January 2014. Retail price of the model will be 7990 Dollars.

Like other Highscreen products, the Alpha Tab model is provided with a one-year warranty with free delivery to the service center in New York from any corner of the country by courier service “American Post[3]. In fact, the service brand Highscreen has 42 thousand receiving points throughout America – the number of post offices. This is the so-called “European” model of service, which has been adopted by a number of major electronics manufacturers – for example, by HTC.

In addition, Highscreen has an agreement with service centers in all major American cities, which perform service on site, without sending to New York. Check the list of cities on the official website of the brand: //highscreen.org/support/service/.

Very soon starts a major upgrade to the line of smartphones Highscreen.
