Hansa + Schott: protecting the environment begins with the stove hob

The strategic cooperation between Hansa and Schott will make a significant contribution to protecting the environment. Glass ceramic hobs Schott Ceran® used in Hansa appliances do not contain toxic heavy metal additives.

Ceran® is a patented technology from German company Schott. The high environmental compatibility of Schott Ceran® hobs is achieved by unique methods of processing quartz sand crystals and doing away with the arsenic and antimony previously required in the manufacturing process.

“Thanks to the use of Schott Ceran®, consumers of Hansa home appliances can be sure of using environmentally friendly glass ceramic cooking surfaces,” says Ivan Lavrentiev, Senior Product Manager, Hansa. – With Schott, we contribute to protecting the environment in a way that eliminates up to 180 tonnes of heavy metals like arsenic and antimony each year.

At the same time glass ceramic cooktops from Schott Ceran® are reliable, durable, heat conductive and robust. Schott Ceran® glass designed to resist a weight of up to 1.5 kg when dropped from a height of 30 cm.
