Hähnel introduces Modus 600RT flash for Micro Four Thirds

Manufacturer of H batteries and accessories&auml hnel has expanded its range of Modus 600RT radio-controlled flashes with a model for Micro Four Thirds cameras. The unit can be hot shoe mounted and used as an individual flash or work in a group of flashes as a master or slave, using radio or optical communication for control.

Flashes

The company already produces this flash for Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon and Sony systems. Olympus and Panasonic cameras are added to the list with the new version. Although the basic design of the Modus 600RT has much in common with the Godox TT685, and most of the features are comparable to the Godox V860II, H&auml hnel claims its flash has a number of significant advantages that explain the price difference. The main ones are better build quality and service in the form of upgrades and special treatment to each customer.

Modus flashes also have Digital Channel Matching which links the transmitter and receiver together once paired to reduce interference. Another important difference, according to H&auml hnel, is the quality of the lithium-ion battery pack supplied, which has a silicone sheath to provide better insulation and cushioning properties. The company claims that its lithium-ion batteries have a longer life and retain their charge longer than competitors’ counterparts.

Flashes

The Modus 600RT has a guide number of 60m at ISO 100 and can produce up to 600 pulses of full power per charge, with a recharge time of 1.5 seconds. Built-in transceiver allows the flash to work as a master or slave, together with the original devices, as well as with third-party devices compatible with H&auml hnel Captur.

The radio-controlled Viper TTL controller can control single hot shoe flashes or three groups of flashes at a range of 100 meters in manual, TTL or strobe modes. The flash zoom head provides evenly distributed light at focal lengths from 20 to 200mm, and a high-speed sync mode lets you work at shutter speeds under 1/8000 sec.

Price and affordability

H&auml Modus 600RT goes on sale for $250. Kit includes Viper transmitter, rechargeable battery and battery charger H&auml hnel Extreme.

The Modus 600RT flash by Hähnel is specifically designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras due to its compact size and lightweight design, which complements the smaller size of Micro Four Thirds camera bodies. It features TTL, Manual and Multi modes, allowing for versatile and precise lighting control. The key feature of the Modus 600RT is its compatibility with the Micro Four Thirds flash system, providing seamless integration and communication with the camera.

Some advantages of using this flash with Micro Four Thirds systems include its powerful guide number of 60, quick recycle time, and long-lasting rechargeable battery. Additionally, the Modus 600RT offers high-speed sync and rear curtain sync options, making it ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects and creative lighting effects.

While the Modus 600RT is specifically designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras, it is also compatible with other camera brands through the use of additional flash triggers or cables. This makes it a versatile option for photographers who use multiple camera systems.
