GRUNDFOS, a leading global manufacturer of pumping equipment, has relaunched the CONLIFT range of condensate removal units for heating and cooling technology. Residential and office building owners are now only offered the universal CONLIFT1 model, but it is possible to connect a PCB which gives an audible signal during an emergency.
This solution makes it possible to reduce the storage capacity of major GRUNDFOS customers, as there is no need to keep all types of CONLIFT units in stock. It is sufficient to have CONLIFT1 and, if necessary, to supplement the installation with an alarm board, which will increase the reliability of the equipment, avoiding emergency situations.
CONLIFT1 units are used to remove condensate that forms below the sewer level or does not drain out. The equipment is usually paired with condensing boilers up to 200 kW, air conditioners, refrigeration systems, evaporators and dehumidifiers. Condensate is pumped through a special hose to the tank from where it is pumped to the discharge point.
Ekaterina Semenova, engineer in the household equipment department at GRUNDFOS Ltd“Previously the series included several models – from the basic with a minimum set of functions to the advanced configuration. GRUNDFOS engineers decided to optimize the equipment and made it possible to add the necessary accessories to the basic set. This is how you can install an emergency control system in the basic set. PCB allows you to monitor the operation of equipment: when the maximum permissible level of the unit is reached, the element will signal to turn off the condensate source or restart the pump, as well as activate the audible alarm. The CONLIFT 1 and its accessories fully complement the CONLIFT 2. Plus, the selling price of systems with accessories is up to 23% better.”.
Automation is activated by a float switch controlling the liquid level in the tank. Their special design protects the micro switches from tank vapors and corrosion. Additionally, a special type of inlets, which prevent the formation of sludge and evaporation from the boiler, ensures the reliability of the equipment. Motor and bearing protected against excess moisture by rotary lip seal. Entire body protected against water spray.
CONLIFT1 can be installed in any size and geometry – its 1800° rotatable condensate direction flange enables it to adapt to any architectural requirements. Both wall and floor installation is possible. All inlets are equipped with insulating grommets with a diameter of 8 and 10 mm, so that installers no longer need to look for special adapters. Adjustment of the equipment by means of a positioning wheel.
