In this group we saw a lot of different configurations: there were simple 2-way speakers as well as more complicated models, even with 5-way crossover. But it is interesting that not a single speaker in the test was equipped with less than three drivers. One more common feature of all speakers in the test is acoustic design of the bass section of inverter type, completely closed cabinets are used less and less often nowadays.

In our speakers test we used NORDOST Blue Heaven interconnect and acoustic cables, Bow Technologies ZZ-8 reference CD player and DENSEN Beat-110 integrated amplifier.

Video&Audio editors would like to thank companies Audiomania, Aleph and Fostergroup salon for help with the test carrying out.

CONCLUSION

The simplest models 2-way speakers from DYNAUDIO and ASW lost in some way to speakers with separate bass drivers by depth of low register, but not by bass quality. The compact Danish Excite X32 loudspeakers proved to be the most interesting models in the test by their combination of qualities and genre versatility. The German Cantius 504 loudspeakers also were good, though a bit more restrained in their emotions and not so dynamic in the bottom part.

Those who like energetic sound and deep bass should pay attention to the speakers PARADIGM Studio 100 v4, JBL TL260 LE, DALI Ikon 8, FO-CAL-JMLAB Chorus 816V and REVEL Concerta F12. Among them, it is worth highlighting the Canadian PARADIGM speakers, which, besides the ability to reproduce the dynamic contrasts of sound well, also have a highly detailed sound, probably the best in the test.

Those who can forgive the speakers some restrictions on dynamic range, but likes the naturalness and neutrality of sound, should look at JAMO C 807, XAVIAN Duetto, YAMAHA Soavo 1 and TRIANGLE Antal EX.
