In the spring of 2017, Garmin is releasing to the global market innovative DVRs, which in the event of an accident will autonomously record and store all the necessary information. Compact units are available in two models – Dash Cam 45 and Dash Cam 55. New DVRs are small in size, suitable for any vehicle and compatible with smartphones. Dash Cam 45 and Dash Cam 55 will arrive in America this April.

All the way around, Garmin DVRs retain high-quality video with a maximum resolution of 1920x1080p with a 2.1 megapixel camera in the case of the Dash Cam 45 and 2560x1440p with a 3.7 megapixel camera in the case of the Dash Cam 55. The quality of video is not diminished in poor visibility conditions. Both DVRs have a two-inch display. Reliable magnetic mount allows you to quickly install or remove the device.
“We have carefully studied the demands of DVR users, and in our new generation of Dash Cams we have taken into account the main wishes,” notes Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of international sales. – As a result, the Dash Cam 45 and 55 are not just DVRs, but full-fledged driver assistants that tell you how to behave on the road.”.

The devices include useful warning functions for the driver to improve traffic safety on the road. The recorders report deviating from the lane and approaching another car at a dangerous distance, and when stopped in traffic or at an intersection, they signal the beginning of the flow of traffic ahead. Thanks to the database loaded in the recorder, show the location of external cameras on the way.
In addition to basic functionality, these cameras feature a Travelapse™ video mode that compresses hours of travel into minute-long clips. With the VIRB® Mobile App preloaded on a smartphone, videos can be instantly downloaded to a smartphone and then shared with friends or uploaded to social media. The Dash Cam 55 also offers a voice control option: the driver can give five simple commands in English to start or stop recording, as well as take a photo.
