Full HD Turbo X5 smartphone review and test

Today I propose to take a closer look at one of the representatives of modern Android-smartphones – Turbo X5. What could be the appeal of such a device? First, the relatively new company Turbo has its roots in the well-known to many fans of computer games company Russobit-M.

Secondly, Turbo X5 has a few more trumps up its sleeve: normal staffing, not going out of bounds decent design and emphasis on value for money. Let us discover these advantages one by one.

Smartphones

1. Accessories

So, in a rather puffy black box, the owner of the Turbo X5 will find the smartphone itself and a few other things, namely: a screen protector for the device, a 2400 mAh battery, a USB cable, a charger, a headset, a manual and a warranty form. As you can see, there is nothing supernatural, however, the same protective film in a box with a smartphone is not put by every manufacturer.

Turbo

Of course it would be nice to have a case, but let’s be happy with what we have and move on.

2.Design

Turbo X5, as I have already noticed above, doesn’t stand out from the stream of modern smartphones and smartpads – it’s still the same “piece of soap” a la Samsung in a metal frame, with three touch buttons under the big screen. IPS-matrix Turbo X5 is designed on the principle of OGS – thanks to him, the traditional IPS-sandwich is lightened and thinned, and the image quality and viewing angles, sort of, increases.

Smartphones

I will not criticize or praise the technology, I will only say that from the usual IPS-displays Turbo X5 screen for the worse is not different, and many of its competitors and can eclipse. But back to the design.

In terms of controls, everything is as simple as possible – back-dom-menu triad under the screen, volume and power on the right, headphones on top, micro USB and microphone on the bottom, nothing on the left.

Now a little more detail about the front and rear panels. On the front, in addition to the buttons, there’s a 5-megapixel “front-face,” as well as an LED indicator, a talking speaker, and hidden distance and light sensors. On the back is a 13 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, as well as a rear speaker.

Smartphones

Under the back cover except for the battery compartment can be found two slots for regular SIM cards, as well as space for a microSD card. All buttons of the device have a fairly short stroke. Connectors are strong, when you connect the plugs no backlash and unnecessary movement in the connectors are not observed.

Now we will go a little more detail on the main advantages of the device. For a smartphone on MTK Turbo X5 is surprisingly well “pulled” its own display c FULL HD resolution.

Moving on – a graphics gas pedal PowerVr SGX544 familiar to us by many well-known devices, and compatibility of many applications with this “iron” deserves very high marks.

Android 4 Operating System.2.1 – not the most recent, but proven, and looks relevant, and most importantly – is included in the list of current and supported by Google itself version of their OS. In addition, I have not yet met the application, which would be too new for this version, which means that no difficulties in using most of the features of the axis will not arise.

The cameras of the device have a pretty high, but not the most amazing resolution for our time. “The 5 megapixel front panel for selfshots and video chatting is nice enough. The rear sensor of the device has a maximum resolution of 13 megapixels, and allows you to take decent pictures, but their degree of decency, as is customary, depends directly on the quality of lighting. The ideal situation for cameras of this level is a sunny day, the worst one is a dark room with a dim table lamp that doesn’t illuminate the part you’re trying to focus on.

Two SIM cards in the device works alternately. In other words, while you’re talking on the second, the line of the first will be busy, and vice versa. One SIM works in 3G networks, the other one communicates via GPRS networks.

Of the useful chips phone I will note Miracast and GPS-navigation. You can use the first in Android OS using the basic means of the system – go to the settings, select the screen and click on the wireless projector. Of course, to use it you’ll need a TV that supports Wi-Fi direct, otherwise all our high quality audio/video signal will go down the drain.

But it is necessary to use the navigation tools with a separate application, in the role of which the well-known program Navitel acts. Another device that helps to orient in space is a compass, the work of which I was not able to test for objective reasons – I have not yet managed to get so lost that I could not orientate myself by street signs, the sun, moss, or notches in the trees.

The device easily lives for over a day on a full charge with average activity and you will definitely want to use it more . Charging the unit at about one percent in two to three minutes when working at full brightness display, as well as plashuyuschihsya in the background of Wi-Fi and GPS-modules .

Below are screenshots of the most popular tests, such as Antutu, Quadrant standard and Epic citadel, as well as Vellamo.

I am not a big fan of toys on smartphones, but for fun put the two that my friends advised me as the most demanding.Shadowgun – not the newest game, but in terms of graphics demonstrative. This also includes the shooter Dead Effect. Screenshots at high settings see below.

Conclusion

Of course, we can not ignore the quality of reception of cellular networks and the volume of the external speaker for incoming calls. A couple of times the phone lost the network, but I’m inclined to attribute this flaw rather to the work of the operator, who can not be named, but come on. Overall, on these two points, the Turbo X5 gets an “okay” rating.

As a result, we face a device for almost 11 thousand Dollars, which has Full HD display, working almost always smoothly which is atypical for the system used in the device on a chip , support for two sims which is equally useful for those who save on communication, and those who are not used to do it for whatever reason , GPS-navigation, Miracast and Bluetooth, and all the features required for a modern smartphone, to become for its owner a full and comfortable working tool.

Of the wishes it is worth noting, above all, the relevance of a higher capacity battery, as well as a case, which is so lacking in the kit. Maybe I would have been happy about the newer Android version, but I must admit that this point was not important for me. In the meantime I give it a solid 4!
