DESIGN FEATURES

When placed on the wall, the TV takes up a large enough wall surface. That’s why the appearance of the flat panel TV, in particular, largely determines the design of your living room. The VL748 television sets from JACOB JENSEN DESIGN create the atmosphere of a room and are a key element of the interior. The design is based on the idea that the TV set has to fit perfectly into modern interiors without getting lost, but without dominating it either. Additional aesthetics are provided by touch buttons on the TV that light up when touched.

In addition to design, it is worth telling about the technical filling of the device. Thanks to the simultaneous operation of eight command channels, the Meta Brain is very fast and can process many more processes at the same time than previous models. At the same time, according to the manufacturer, it consumes considerably less power. Meta Brain video processor also performs computational operations for the Resolution+ and AutoView functions. This ensures the consistency of all picture enhancement functions to achieve a quality picture. Processor corrects and enhances picture parameters such as contrast, color fidelity, brightness and color reproduction. Standard definition sources are processed with Resolution+ optimizing technology for high definition picture quality with pin-sharp details on the HD screen.

AutoView uses a special sensor to analyze room lighting and its parameters color and color temperature . At the same time, the image parameters brightness and color are checked. On the basis of these values, the AutoView function regulates all the picture settings, such as brightness, contrast, sharpness, and even controls the individual functions Meta Brain and Resolution+ to improve the picture quality. Because all these measurements are made continuously, the TV picture is constantly adjusted according to the changing lighting conditions. This is used to optimally adjust the TV at any time of day.

In its turn, the Active Vision technology improves motion sharpness and provides better playback of movies by adding additional frames.

PICTURE QUALITY

Toshiba 46VL748R demonstrates a large margin of brightness and color, rich black and white. However, because of the glass coating, glare from external light sources can slightly interfere with viewing.

Colors slightly change when viewed from a 60-degree angle from a perpendicular direction to the screen.

When playing a 1080p signal through the component input, the resolution is approximately 570 TV lines.

Black shades are displayed with reasonably good quality, detail of bright scenes at a good level.

Slightly noticeable comb on oblique lines when displaying moving objects.

With 1080i signal the combing is practically invisible, but the motion is a little bit intermittent.

If the colors seem not very natural to some people, there are many detailed settings of individual colors, as in the case of the signal from HDMI.

When inputting a signal to the HDMI input, the resolution was about 870 TV lines, which is one of the best results among tested models.

However, when displaying the motion slightly noticeable comb on the moving oblique lines.

White objects on white background are displayed with good detail. Color control is unlikely to need to set more than half of the scale.

AUDIO QUALITY

Toshiba 46VL748R delivers average volume without noticeable distortion.

SERVICE FEATURES

Large remote control looks solid, in its lower part there is a square navigation joystick, and buttons to control the external source, in the upper part there are square digital buttons with programs.
