Full control: Pioneer DJ releases a professional four-channel controller DDJ-SZ for Serato DJ

January 23, 2014. – Pioneer DJ introduces bright and large professional four-channel controller DDJ-SZ. It’s Pioneer’s first controller, most similar to the CDJ-2000NXS set-up with serious scratching capabilities. It features the full-size jogs from the CDJ-2000NXS, set point indication, large pads with variable illumination of assigned hot spots and two USB sound cards for easy DJ changes.

DDJ-SZ incorporates all the best features of the DDJ-SX for headlining performances. It’s the only controller with jog displays that show countdown point markers and play position, allowing you to work without looking at your computer screen. Full-size jogs have physical resistance and track stop speed adjustments, as well as high-precision response.

DJs can add sounds thanks to large pressure-sensitive pads that work in modes: hot spot, slicer, roll and sampler. Color indication will help you quickly determine the mode of the pads, and the backlighting of hotspots for the first time can match the set in the program Serato DJ.

DDJ-SZ has an independent four-channel mixer with two microphone channels. DJs can easily activate Sound Colour effects that can also be applied to a sampler, mic or master and manipulated with the corresponding knobs on each channel. Also, the controller has oscillators, slip and reverse mode, as well as immediate access to all functions of Serato DJ.

DDJ-SZ is the first controller with 206mm jaws similar to the industry flagship CDJ-2000NXS. This makes it the best controller for scratching. Jog features include:

Color indication of the pads shows their mode of operation, and in hot spot mode repeats the colors of the points preset in the program.

Two sound cards allow you to connect two laptops at once. A/B button allows DJs to split the controller in half for easy switching or pairing.

3. Working with timecode disks

Four additional inputs allow you to connect players and turntables and use to control the program time-code discs. Without taking up a mixer line, you can connect two microphones with HF and LF control.
