Scanning Sequentially: The Next Level

PaperStream Capture 1 software.5 allows fine-tuning of each step in the processing of individual documents and batches. It provides detailed information about the scanning procedure next to the profile icons, making daily scanning easier. Expert operators can switch on full information display while ordinary users will be satisfied with the simplified mode. The new “Browse View” feature that shows thumbnails and a document preview window on the same screen allows you to visually check images right during scanning, which saves you a lot of time in evaluating, classifying and checking data.

Scanning settings can be loaded, edited and saved as PaperStream IP driver profiles directly from the PaperStream Capture interface – users do not have to constantly switch between these programs. Other advantages include the ability to view a batch job while scanning and to release batches without stopping the job.

Once a batch scan is complete, users can check data integrity, reorder documents, merge them into a single file, index and upload to a local or remote repository, and transfer them to a workflow or ECM system. Users can also pause and resume scanning. All of which makes this platform an important aid to the digital transformation journey.

PaperStream IP prepares digitized data for postprocessing e.g. Optical Character Recognition OCR and synchronizes with popular scanning applications via TWAIN or ISIS. PaperStream IP automatically generates the highest quality images, and the function of linking images of two sides of the same document speeds up page layout. Other automatic features include color recognition, page alignment, creating multi-color and multi-page scans, and cropping irregularly shaped documents. Automatic hole punching removal, document separation based on patch codes, bar codes and matrix codes optional help minimize user involvement.
