FUJIFILM Corporation is thrilled to announce the following winners of one of the most renowned and prestigious Photography and Image Press Association TIPA Awards worldwide in 2012: the FUJIFILM X-Pro1 interchangeable lens camera and the FUJIFILM X-S1 digital zoom camera.
The FUJIFILM X-Pro1 premium interchangeable lens digital camera won the TIPA award for best compact camera. Exquisitely textured and stylishly designed, this camera is designed to capture the ultimate in image quality.
The X-Pro1 was awarded primarily for its state-of-the-art Hybrid Multi Viewfinder, which allows users to quickly switch between OVF optical viewfinder and EVF electronic viewfinder mode and automatically selects the OVF magnification and frame size according to the focal length of the attached lens for wide-angle and standard focal lengths .
The 16.3-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor with color filter with enhanced irregularity to prevent moirƩ and false colors without a low-pass filter was individually nominated, resulting in very high image quality.

FUJIFILM X-S1 is a digital camera that lets you use a wide range of focal lengths, from super macro with a minimum shooting distance of 1 cm to super telephoto, without changing the lens.
Awarded for its superb image quality throughout its focal range from wide-angle 24mm to super-telephoto 624mm , the combination of Fujinon 26x optical manual zoom lens with Intelligent Digital Zoom capability and the 2/3-inch 12 megapixel EXR CMOS sensor.
The judging panel also recognized other features such as the manual operations that make photography fun and enjoyable, the in-camera RAW processing function and the full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels movie recording function.
