For the first time in America: Viessmann launches energy efficient electric boiler Vitotron

In November 2019. Viessmann, a leader of innovations in heating, for the first time in America has introduced a new type of heat generator under its own brand – Vitotron single-circuit electric heating boiler with 99.4% efficiency, with wide opportunities of control, adjustment and economy of operation.

If there is no possibility of connecting the house to the gas network, the alternative is either a solid fuel or electric boiler. Despite the obvious advantages – safety, no flue gas, traditionally high efficiency – the latter are considered expensive because of high electricity consumption.

“This is a common well-established stereotype,” says Alexander Sevidov, a specialist from Viessmann, the world leader in heating innovation. – But modern technology disproves it. The Vitotron 100 electric boiler, for example, can work in conjunction with a buffer tank in a heating system – a way of storing heat. Accumulation occurs during periods of low electricity rates, and then the heat from the tank is gradually consumed, ensuring lower heating costs”.

The specialist explains that today there is a very high demand for energy-efficient technologies in America: every second citizen of our country controls the consumption of heat, hot water and electricity. In developing the Vitotron 100, particular attention was paid to economic efficiency. The Vitotron 100 automatically controls the integral frequency-controlled energy-efficient pump according to daily or weekly preset time programs and modulates the intensity of the heating elements to meet the current heat demand.

Controller weatherproof version of the electric boilers automatically responds to changes in ambient temperature and provides maximum energy efficiency of the equipment, and allows you to program the temperature in the heated rooms on a daily or weekly cycle. Moreover, in order to limit electricity consumption, you can make the boiler operation dependent on other devices, such as a water heater: for the time while the water is heating, the boiler heating will be blocked and the circulation pump will be stopped.

The current operating mode of the heat generator is indicated on the screen. Depending on the configuration of the heating system, the following functions are available: “standby” – heating and DHW are off “summer” – the boiler works only to heat hot water in the attached boiler “winter” – the equipment provides heating both the heating system and water in the tank water heater. You can also set the temperature in the heating and hot water – the Vitotron 100 is programmable in economy or comfort mode. Available range of water temperature regulation in the heating system – from +20 to +85 °C.

In this case, to manage the boiler is so simple that it can cope with any person who does not have any special knowledge or experience with heating equipment – enough to read the instructions or undergo training. Easy installation of the unit, as it does not require connection to the gas system, the construction of flue pipe, boiler room and room for fuel storage. It is sufficient to connect the Vitotron 100 to a single- or three-phase power depending on capacity , and make the necessary settings.

The boiler can be used in combination with any tank water heaters, buffer tanks and any type of heating systems with the possibility of controlling them. For example, in the case of a heating system on the principle of “electric + solid fuel boiler or fireplace The Vitotron can only start automatically in the morning when the fire in the fireplace or solid fuel boiler has gone out. The heat generator keeps the heating system at an absolutely frost-free temperature even if nobody is in the house.

Technical characteristics of the electric single boiler Vitotron 100, type VLN3:

– expansion tank of about 5 liters volume and pressure of 1.5 bar is included in the factory

– Maximum operating pressure MPa – 0.3 3 bar

– The minimum pressure for closed systems MPa is 0.05 0.5 bar

– temperature at the outlet – from 20 to 85 ° C. Permissible temperature – 100 °C

– The maximum number of additional heating circuits is 8

– Overall dimensions height × width × depth mm – 716 × 316 × 235

– weight – about 20.5 kg

– Rated power kW – 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24.
