A world innovation now for mobile applications: Bosch is developing the innovative potential of inductive charging technology for battery-powered tools further and now offers a new system component in addition to the stationary solution – a wireless charging system consisting of a charger and an 18-volt lithium-ion battery pack – the Mobile Carry Case. You can charge e.g. a Bosch 18 cordless screwdriver directly in the car on the way to your worksite. The result: tools are always ready to use, and no interruptions for battery changes.
On the way to a new source of energy: Wireless Charging Case
On-site users like HVAC installers, electricians or carpenters often have to think about where and how to charge their cordless tool batteries. The Bosch Mobile Charging Concept solves this question in a nutshell: the clip-on car charger takes up very little space and allows you to charge the battery while you are on the road. When the craftsman arrives on site, he doesn’t have to look for the tool anymore. It will always be on hand, it can easily be removed from its carrying case, and it will be ready for use right away. No more need for a second battery.
The cordless charging case can be used to charge seven cordless Bosch 18 volt tools, including cordless screwdriver, impact drill and impact wrench. It is suitable for the tool with the 18 V lithium-ion battery pack GBA 18 V/2.0 Ah MW-B Professional and the battery charger GAL 1830 W Professional. The robust design, made from impact-absorbing material, ensures that the cordless spray gun and battery charger are safely fixed, even when the vehicle is in motion.
The carrier is compatible with Sortimo’s modular vehicle body equipment system. The device can be installed on drawer rails, on vertical or horizontal surfaces in the vehicle cabin. Charging is easy and convenient with a 12-volt plug in the car. The supplied voltage converter ensures that the correct energy is available to the charger. Alternatively, the charger can be connected to a 220 V plug socket.
The Wireless Charging System is constantly being expanded: Since 2015. Professionals who have to take a large number of accessories and consumables to the construction site along with their tools can use the Wireless Charging L-Boxx Bay as a mobile charging station, which is compatible with most Bosch 18 V cordless tools.
How the Bosch Wireless Charging System works
With the introduction of the wireless charging system in fall 2014. Bosch has revolutionized cordless tools. As the creator and developer of this technology, Bosch actively exploited the advantages of inductive energy transfer to integrate battery charging into the work process. New solutions are available today that allow you to work efficiently with minimal costs, including time.
The basis of the technology, which is used in other applications such as battery chargers for electric toothbrushes or cellphones, is contactless power transfer: an alternating magnetic field is generated in the transmitter by means of a inductor coil. The same coil is present in the receiver. The coil is exposed to an alternating magnetic field.
This is how voltage is created and current is transmitted. With the Bosch Wireless Charging System, this means the following: The charger produces a magnetic field that can be absorbed by the battery and is converted into a charging current. And the transferable power is more than 50 times greater than with an electric toothbrush. This is necessary so that the charging time is comparable to that of standard power tool chargers. a 2.0 Ah 18 Volt battery is charged to 80% in 35 minutes and fully charged 100% in 45 minutes.
Efficient operation, expense saving – the advantages of wireless charging system
The advantages of contactless power transfer are especially appreciated during on-site construction sites – it is much more convenient and practical than conventional battery chargers.
By the time you get to the site, the cordless screwdriver is always charged and ready to go – and that of course makes you more productive. Like other batteries, the 18-volt inductive rechargeable batteries are part of the Bosch Flexible Power system: They are compatible with all rechargeable
by the tools of this voltage class. The battery charger is also extremely reliable: it is not contactable and is therefore insensitive to moisture, dust and dirt.
