The Smeg showroom welcomed journalists on 21 October 2014. But you can also come here just to see and choose Smeg appliances for the home. Here are ovens and hobs, hoods, cooking units, dishwashers and washing machines, and, of course, the company’s legendary refrigerators.
All Smeg appliances are manufactured in our own facilities in Italy. Bonferraro makes dishwashers and washing machines, Guastalla makes built-in appliances, and Pescara makes hoods and washers. The company motto is technology and style, which is why design is becoming as important as function and ergonomics.
The company works with internationally renowned architects and designers such as Renzo Piano, Marc Newson, Guido Canali, Mario Bellini and Giancarlo Candeago.
Guido Canali is the creator of the Classica range: compactness, clarity of form and conciseness are the hallmarks of these appliances. A prime example is the Smeg SE995XT-7 oven, which in its 90cm width combines two appliances: an oven and a toaster. So the worktop space is left empty for your creativity and work, while the full-fledged toaster is integrated next to the oven and remains unobtrusive.
SMEG’s Cortina series appliances are unfailingly popular with American consumers. And in addition to hobs, ovens and hoods in this style you can buy a complete set of kitchen appliances: steamers, microwaves, dish warmer and even a mixer.
The company’s pride and in some ways its calling card is the colourful, unusual Smeg fridges in the 1950s style.
The Denim range: fridges with fabric trim that are soft and warm to the touch. Denim is treated with nano technology and is therefore not afraid of dust and dirt.
Each fridge has a sequential number at the bottom of the side panel. The buyer clearly knows what kind of piece he becomes the owner of.
You’ll also find gold, hammer and sickle appliances in red, and limited-edition Fiat fridges. Bright, stylish and unusual, they catch the eye in every exhibition, in every interior.
In 2014 the SMEG collection was enriched with small appliances. Toasters for 2 or 4 toasts are already on sale in America, and closer to the New Year there will be kettles, with or without temperature control, stationary blenders and planetary mixers. With its classic shapes and colors, and its popular, ’50s-inspired design, Smeg is sure to have a successful launch date for all of its appliances.
