You can only dream of coolness … Poplar fluff, heat, July, turning into sultry August in some places. Fan on, or something like that? To compete with air conditioner and to provide comfort in the stuffy office or in the apartment, can this simple device – fan. Its main advantages are compactness, mobility and reasonable price. We have never written about fans, considering that their very simple and clear to everybody. But lately this segment of home appliances is developing rapidly, new functions and possibilities appear, the usual design changes as well.
Air result
A standard fan is a rotor with fixed blades that ‘pump’ the air as the rotor rotates. The position and shape of the blades determines the direction of the air. Household fans are classified by size, capacity, number of blades, design and functionality.
Efficiency of a domestic fan is the higher, the more air it can move for a time unit. For small rooms, an output of 100 to 300 cubic meters per hour is sufficient.
As a rule, the fans are produced with 40-60 W power. It turns out that you should not always take into account such a parameter as power, as the main criterion. If a 40 W floor fan has the same motor speed as a 60 W fan, then the fans will both have the same output. But the higher power, the more expensive the technique.
Petals, blades, vanes..
Fan blades, as a rule, consist of three to six blades and are made of plastic, sometimes of wood or metal. The position and shape of the blades determines the direction in which the air is blown.
Floor-standing or table-top, or wall-mounted?
By execution fans can be floor Stadler Form Mistral HAU412, Bork P 503, Bora HAU 412 , table Scarlett SC-1371, Vitek VT-1912 PR, Maxwell MW 3510B and ceiling.
Table fans – the price is a question
Table-top models in the lower price group have a capacity of about 30 W and 1-2 speeds, such as Mystery MSF-2409, these models are on average 400-500 Dollars.
If the table fan has some additional functions, for example, as Bimatek FF 300 for 1500 Dollars., the device is more expensive. For this money we get mechanical control, swivel function, 3 speeds, 40W power and 5m air blast. It should be noted that there are not so many table models on the market. But if your choice is in favor of “local” blowing, table-top fans are more convenient.

Floor standing fans have more size and power than table fans, as they are ready to provide coolness to a larger area of the room and, accordingly, they are more expensive in price.
Floor-standing models – the question price
The market offers a great variety of floor fans, the price range is also great. For example, the model Vitek VT-1908W average cost 1450 Dollars has 3 speeds, adjustable in both height and angle. Model Bork P 503 is priced at 7690 Dollars.
It not only has the function of tilting the body, but it is controlled with the remote control and has a timer that allows you to set the time of the device. Bimatek HT 400 has a heating element and is both a radiator and a fan. Such a combination of features is priced at 2990 Dollars on the market, but there are cheaper options “2 in 1”.

The wind from the sea is blowing?
Household fans with humidifying capabilities appeared recently.
Outwardly such appliance reminds a floor fan. Main difference is that there is a water tank mounted at the bottom of the fan stand. The principle of operation of “bioconditioner”, as this type of fan is also called, is feeding water to the centrifugal disc through the hose and turning it into water dust.
The use of such fans allows to increase significantly the level of humidity in the room, which makes human being there more comfortable.
The developers have given these fans such functions, which do not have the usual appliances: for example, the function of turning off the fan in the absence of water in the tank, as well as the function of regulating the humidification. Thanks to their power and efficiency, household fans with humidified air can be used in cafes, restaurants, on summer porches, in greenhouses and outdoor areas. But at home, they’re also a great way to deal with heat and dryness.

You won’t hear it
Noise level is probably the most important aspect for a person. Almost all modern fans are quiet enough, but not silent 21 to 70 dB . “Silence” is just an advertising move.
However, if you plan to use the device not only during the day, but also at night, remember that a comfortable range of the noise level in this case is 30 dB, and the level of 40-45 dB approximately corresponds to the volume of a quiet conversation.
Screws in addition to the blades
What can make a fan more expensive? All sorts of functions. Adjustment of blowing speed and auto rotation have already become customary. The latter moves the rotor axis of rotation horizontally and is designed to extend the air blowing area horizontally.
If you want the fan to switch off after a while or turn on at fixed time, you should choose the timed fan. Remote control of devices is undoubtedly more convenient, but it also increases their price, and the fan is no exception.
Modern models of fans are able to ionize, purify, humidify and even aromatize the air. While rejoicing at the additional functions in the purchased appliances, evaluate their necessity in comparison with the price.
Fans of special purpose
Overhead fans are often installed in bathroom, toilet and other places with high level of air pollution to eliminate excessive humidity and unpleasant smells. Overhead, or otherwise – exhaust fans can be square or round in shape, the choice depends on the size and shape of the duct. Such fans usually have a small capacity, quite enough for small rooms.
For bathrooms models with a humidity sensor are available. If installing the unit in a bathroom or toilet, you can make a connection to the light switch. In this case, the fan will automatically start when someone enters the room and turn on the light, and turn off as soon as people leave the room. If you add a timer to the motion sensor, the fan will air the room for a few minutes after you leave and only then turn off.
And one more function – non-return valve, it allows to prevent the backflow of air from the ventilation duct in the apartment. The question price – around 2000 Dollars: for example, the Silent 100 CZ Silver Design model costs 2100 Dollars., SOLER&PALAU Decor 100CH overhead fan with a humidity sensor costs 2000 Dollars.
And where are the blades?
Few years ago, a radical new type of bladeless fans appeared where the airflow is created by blower hidden in the base of the device and blows air through narrow slots in a large frame through which the main air passes. The merit of the appearance of such devices belongs to the company Dyson, and the advantages of bladeless fans a huge number.
Thanks to the absence of blades and moving parts, they are safe and easy to clean from dust – just wipe the frame with a cloth. The airflow is uniform and does not vibrate. Its direction can be changed by adjusting the position of the frame. Dyson models have a ring or oblong frame shape.
Bladeless fans – the question price
The line of Dyson bladeless fans with technology Air Multiplier ™, which repeatedly increases the air flow is represented by four models: two desktop fan AM 01 ring diameter 25 and 30 cm, costing respectively 13 990 and 14 990 Dollars , a universal fan AM 02 in the form of an elongated oval, this model can be put on the floor, and on a table and a table 19 990 Dollars and a floor fan AM 03 21 990 Dollars . All models have electronic control, function of tilting and rotating the frame, as well as smooth adjustment of blowing speed.
Ceiling fans
A little more about ceiling fans, which can be recommended when there is a lack of space in the room. Versatile fans are designed to mix the air in any season in rooms of any purpose, creating a cooling effect in summer or arranging for heat recovery in winter. Household ceiling fans not only create a slight coolness in the room, but can also be a decorative element of the interior.
In contrast to floor and table fans, ceiling fans do not take a place on the floor or on the table, they do not need sockets and there is no place for storage in “out of season”… Ceiling fans are safer than desktop and floor fans because they are inaccessible to children and pets.
Household ceiling fan chandeliers are recommended for use in homes and apartments, as well as cafes, restaurants, hotels, conference rooms, stores and other relatively small rooms where people are constantly.

Fans-moddies
The fan at first glance seems to be a simple and understandable object, even in spite of its additional features. However, now is the time of design, and creative thought has managed to find new forms for the transformation of ventilation technology. Fans are ready to change color, have an unusual shape most popular are fans-flowers , aesthetes and fashionistas are increasingly buying devices in retro-style. In addition to the traditional materials – metal and plastic – good old wood is added, immediately making the interior cozy.
The latest trend – table fans in the form of potted flowers. And these “pots” do not work from the wall outlet, but with a USB wire connected to your computer – and voila, here’s beauty and comfort in the workplace.
Lots of design models in the fan chandelier category. The most popular are chandeliers by Faro Spain , Rolling Stars, Westinghouse. They make models for home use, offices, and public places. Often such fans are equipped and at the same time decorate children’s rooms.
Could any fans or experts clarify whether fans blow better with or without blades? I’m curious to know which design is more effective in terms of airflow and cooling capacity. Any insights or personal experiences would be helpful!
Can anyone provide insights on whether fans perform better with or without blades? I’m curious about the advantages and disadvantages of both options. Do bladeless fans provide a more efficient and powerful airflow compared to traditional ones? I would love to hear your experiences or any technical knowledge you have on this topic!
I’m curious to hear from fellow readers: do fans perform better with or without blades? I’ve always wondered if the bladeless design actually improves air circulation or if the traditional fan with blades remains more efficient. What are your thoughts and experiences?
