Epson introduces new monochrome devices with low printing costs and extensive functionality for small and medium-sized workgroups.

Low cost of printing and cost of ownership

A smaller amount of consumables compared to their laser counterparts saves on maintenance and reduces the cost of ownership of these devices, which is important when choosing a solution for the office printing.

The Epson WorkForce Pro Mono has only two types of consumables: the cartridge, which has a 10,000-page black and white page yield, and the waste ink tank, which has a 50,000-page yield. As with all Epson inkjet devices comes with a full-size cartridge rather than an installation cartridge with a lower yield .

The absence of heating elements in the design of Epson WorkForce Pro Mono series inkjet devices reduces power consumption by 80% compared to laser printers and MFPs of the same segment. In printing mode the device consumes not more than 22 W.

Low cost of printing is achieved by using high-capacity cartridge for 10 000 prints.

High monthly workload

Epson WorkForce Pro Mono series devices are highly reliable thanks to the latest printing technology – Epson PrecisionCore. Printhead is not a consumable item and is designed for high volume of printing – up to 35 000 pages per month. As long as it lasts as long as the device itself. The printhead does not require additional maintenance.

Permanent ink and clean lines

Epson WorkForce Pro Mono series uses Epson DURABrite Ultra pigment ink for printing. High durability of these inks is well-known to users: text does not “float” or smudge when exposed to water. Print head perfectly works on fine lines, so text is always as crisp as a laser printer.

Functionality

The Epson WorkForce Pro Mono Series are the first and only monochrome inkjet printers with automatic duplex printing.Despite the fact that the devices themselves are black and white, their scanner is color, with support for network scanning and sending the scanned image to e-mail or FTP server.

More and more customers with heavy print jobs are seeing the need for devices that support confidential printing. Employee or department is assigned a 4-digit code and the job is sent to print only after entering this code directly from the printer/MFP control panel. This eliminates the possibility of unclaimed documents piling up in the device’s receiving tray, and accounting department employees or managers can safely send sensitive documents to be printed.

Andrey Antonov, Business Equipment Manager of Epson New York Representative Office, comments: “In the current economic situation, business owners have become more careful in selecting equipment and make their choice based on long-term planning. That’s why they increasingly prefer inkjet printing devices: higher uptime and fewer consumable parts make it more profitable to own one. Following the monochrome “Print Factory” series, Epson is launching the WorkForce Pro Mono line – these are also cost-effective, yet designed for higher workloads. Their low cost of ownership combined with extensive functional capabilities make these devices the ideal solution for corporate office printing”.
