Anova Precision Cooker is an online thermostat for restaurant-quality cooking at home using Sous-Vide technology

Anova was founded in 2013 with the help of investors from startup resource Kickstarter. The company has gained popularity at lightning speed with its innovative product, the Anova Precision Cooker. High-precision online immersion thermostat allows you to cook restaurant-quality food at home with Sous-Vide technology cooking food under vacuum, at 47-80 degrees Celsius . Cooking in a water bath takes minimum time and preserves maximum benefits of ingredients. The device is fully controlled through a smartphone and a special app, where not only the cooking time of the recipe is calculated, but also the temperature accuracy to tenths of a degree is maintained. From fish steak to roasted pears, the company offers thousands of recipes in its smartphone app.

In 2016, the Anova Precision Cooker was voted the best kitchen appliance, according to Reviewed.com. Today, the company is headquartered in San Francisco and had sales of about $40 million in 2016.

Anova cost Electrolux about $250 million. The joining of an innovative company is underpinned by a common goal: the development of technology to create smart home appliances that help you cook professionally at home without the use of special equipment. After buying Anova, Electrolux is already making grand plans to open an office in San Francisco and create an innovation center to develop the smart home concept.

“The purchase of Anova is an important step forward in our development. Our aim today is to offer the consumer not just any conventional household appliance with a standard set of features, but a quality smart product for the home.”,

– commented Jonas Samuelson, president and CEO of Electrolux.
