The new Electrolux Green Range vacuum cleaners will not only help make your floors cleaner – they will help make the world cleaner. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each vacuum cleaner will go to Algalita and 5 Gyres to support research into levels of plastic waste in the seas and plastic emissions into the world’s oceans.
The partnership is part of the Vac from the Sea project, which aims to educate a wider audience about the problem of plastic pollution in the oceans.
Since the beginning of June, 1.5% of all Green Range vacuum cleaners sold in Europe will go directly to Algalita, one of the world’s leading marine research organizations, and partner organization 5 Gyres.
Anne Cummins, co-owner of 5Gyres:
“Electrolux Consumers Make a Significant Contribution. All the proceeds raised will go towards our research and education activities. The results of our study on plastic pollution in the oceans will help organize a series of educational projects to engage audiences in practical solutions to the problem. It’s the most effective, and the only long-term solution to the problem of ocean plastic pollution. We are glad to see Electrolux as our partner and supporter because the company really understands that it is not only a part of the problem but also can be a part of the solution.
Cecilia Nord, vice president of Electrolux for development of eco-programs:
“They say that your car says something about you. In a way, it is your vacuum cleaner which defines you. Compared to making a standard vacuum cleaner, making a Green Range vacuum cleaner saves 2 liters of crude oil and 90% of energy. By choosing a vacuum cleaner from this series, you are making an important contribution to the research on the level of plastic pollution in the seas, cleaning not only your home, but also your world.”.
How does the Electrolux Green Range contribute to making the world a cleaner place?
