Electrolux: buy an iron and don’t go to the cleaners

Electrolux research shows that ironing is the most frustrating household chore. Given the wishes of consumers, the creators of 5 Safety focused on making the process easier, providing excellent end results and eliminating any fear that delicate fabrics could be ruined.

Appropriate equipment for clothes care, essential for all those who care about their looks. But we often spend too much time ironing, without getting a satisfactory result. The 5Safety features were based on the experience and knowledge of professional laundry.

Electrolux research shows that 50 percent of trips to the dry cleaner are due to a desire to freshen and iron clothes. Easy-to-use, high performance ironing to get perfect results without wrinkles, so you don’t have to go to the cleaners.

As well as having a great ironing effect, the abundance of steam can be used to moisten fabric fibres and neutralise odours. Compared to dry cleaning, it’s gentle on your clothes, your wallet and the environment.

5Safety iron is easy to use, thanks to fully rubberized handle surface, and the shape of the soleplate allows it to easily slide back on seams and buttons.

The considerable number of steam outlets – 605 in total – means thick steam. At 150 grams of water per steam output and 2600 watts of power it achieves amazing ironing results.

For safety, the 5Safety is equipped with:

• Extended support part for a more stable position of the iron when it’s not in use,
• Fully rubberized handle surface for a better grip during ironing
• Three levels of automatic shutdown that can be triggered if the iron stands still with the soleplate down for more than 30 seconds, rests on its side for more than 30 seconds, or is not used for more than 8 minutes.

Electrolux’s 5Safety steam iron won the Plus X award for Best Product of 2011, and was praised for its high quality design and ease of use.
