RIDGID RE 60-MLR is designed for quick and quality crimping of lugs and ferrules on copper cables up to 300 mm2 and aluminum cables up to 240 mm2. With its compact size only 425 mm long , this 60-kN crimping force handheld hydraulic pincer is the most comfortable and lightweight tool in its class.

Andrey Makarov, Head of RIDGID America “Beginning to penetrate a new market segment, RIDGID has consistently expanded its line of tools for professional electricians. We introduced our first product for working with electric cables a little over a year ago, and now we have battery-operated and manual models of crimping pliers. With the introduction of the RE 60-MLR compact model, electricians now have the opportunity to select the crimping tool that best suits their needs.

RE 60-MLR is designed so that the crimping process occurs with a minimum amount of force on the crimping handle. This means quality of work is no longer dependent on physical strength, fatigue or body position of the electrician. With these ergonomic pliers, operations on cables up to 300 mm2 can be performed by one operator, without helpers and accessories, which significantly increases efficiency and productivity.

RIDGID RapidAdvance’s unique, patented rapid feed system ensures that the cable lug is gripped in just one jerk of the crank. This technology also reduces the total number of movements needed to finish crimping.

Tool with integrated pressure relief valve for better control of cable clamping. It gives a signal when the maximum force is reached or when the crimping is completed. If it is necessary to interrupt the process e.g., if the operator notices that the cable is not fully seated in the crimping lug , manual pressure relief is available.

The RE 60-MLR is supplied in a handy plastic case with 13 crimping die pockets, specially labeled for easy reference and on-the-job replacement.

This compact crimping pliers model from RIDGID seems perfect for tight spaces. I’m curious to know if it is also easy to use and worth the investment compared to larger crimping tools. Can anyone who has tried it share their experience?

I’m really interested in the compact crimping pliers model you mentioned. Can you provide more information on how it performs in tight spaces? Does it still offer the same level of crimping ability as larger models? Overall, I’m curious if this model from RIDGID is a suitable option for someone in need of easy crimping in limited space situations.
