How Jet Focus technology works
Jet Focus lets you control the airflow by deflecting it to a specific spot or evenly dispersing it around the room. The technology is based on a physical phenomenon called the Coanda effect. Its essence is that the air jet can change direction depending on its contact with the surface.
On the front and back of the Dyson AM09 there are two narrow slot ducts along the oval-shaped contour.
In down-flow mode, the air passes through a narrow slot in the back of the aerodynamically shaped profile, gradually speeding up. It causes a powerful stream of warm air to rush out in a certain direction by focusing it around the front edge of the oval-shaped contour.
In diffused airflow mode, air comes from both the back and front of the fan heaterâs oval contour. Thus, when two jets meet, it creates a powerful and wide stream of air.
