  • Dyson’s profits exceeded £1 billion for the first time in 2018: investment in advanced manufacturing and research reached new levels, and revenues continued to climb steadily.
  • Dyson invests in future technology in both the UK and Asia. The number of engineers and scientists in the international R&D department increased to 5,853.
  • Investment strengthened in all key technologies, including battery and thermal, robotics, machine learning and motors.
  • Continued rapid growth in retail sales in proprietary channels as Dyson opened several more branded stores and strengthened this line of business.

New products boosted sales worldwide: Dyson launched new products in six categories, with investments in key technologies playing a major role in all cases.

Goes on sale worldwide in October 2018.

Dyson’s expertise and research into hair health and beauty was at the heart of its design.

Styler soon became one of Dyson’s fastest-selling devices. Vogue magazine called the new styler a “styling star”.

Dyson Supersonic hair dryer

Dyson Supersonic hair dryer

has exceeded all forecasts for three consecutive years, with triple-digit sales growth rates in many countries and a global customer satisfaction score of 4.7 out of 5.

Asia saw the strongest sales growth.

The new professional version of this hair dryer was beta-tested at Fashion Weeks in early 2018 – and has since been used in leading beauty salons around the world.

Dyson Cyclone V10

The Dyson Cyclone V10 cordless vacuum cleaner began selling worldwide in March 2018.

It is Dyson’s most powerful cordless vacuum cleaner with the longest battery life.

It features the new Dyson V10 digital motor and a lighter, yet higher-capacity battery. In addition, improved electronics and a battery management system have resulted in power comparable to that of corded vacuum cleaners.

The new model can run for up to 60 minutes without reducing suction power – enough to vacuum the entire house.

Dyson 360 Heurist robot vacuum cleaner

The Dyson 360 Heurist robotic vacuum cleaner, which was first released in China, combines the latest navigation capabilities.

Dyson’s patented technologies deliver high quality cleaning and obstacle avoidance, even in low light.

Dyson’s latest lighting technology

Dyson Lighting

In China and Japan, the company introduced smart LED lights that adjust the brightness depending on the current daylight, providing the right amount of light at any time of day.

Lighting quality maintained for 60 years.

The solution will be available in other countries in 2019.

Dyson AirbladeTM Wash+Dry hand dryer

Dyson hand dryer

The latest AirbladeTM technology was introduced in 2018.

Dyson AirbladeTM Wash+Dry hand dryer, built into the mixer, allows hands to be washed and then quickly dried right over the sink.

This multifunctional design helps save space in the bathroom and not have to worry about water dripping on the floor while a person walks from the sink to the separately placed dryer.

This model is up to 39% quieter than its predecessors.

Dyson automotive division

The company opened a 750-acre technology complex in Halavington, in the U.K., with a total investment of £200 million.

In April, Roland Krueger will join Dyson in Singapore to evaluate and review all aspects of automotive manufacturing ahead of the impending launch. r
