Dremel found out what American DIY enthusiasts most often use their power tools for. Our survey shows that women are just as capable as men of using Dremel products – over 90% of them find the brand’s tools helpful for their creative projects.

In May 2016 Dremel launched a survey among American consumers in the official group on the social network “VKontakte. Over the course of two weeks, respondents answered the question, “What do you use your Dremel power tool for most of the time??”. They were given four options: “For household chores”, “For working in the garden”, “As a hobby, making crafts for myself and my friends”, “I use it in my profession”.
There is a stereotype that tool work is strictly a job for men, but the mini survey results showed that the fairer sex also enjoys working with Dremel. They were 10% of the respondents. Mostly women use this brand of tools for hobbies and creativity more than 90% of the respondents . About 10% of respondents work with Dremel in their professional activities.

The survey also debunked the myth that power tools are only used by a certain age group – adults and adults. The under 18 survey had as many as 38% of all respondents.
In general, most of the participants of the official brand group in “VKontakte” use Dremel multitools for hobbies: making something for themselves or their friends 68% . The second most popular was doing anything around the house 19% . The following numbers indicated that they used a Dremel for professional use 11% . The respondents also mentioned that they use power tools for works on the countryside 2% .

Previously, Dremel conducted a survey of DIY experts and hobbyists from all over the world. Based on the responses a list was drawn up of the jobs Dremel users found the highest use for the high-speed tool. Some of the popular uses were: fixing damage on cars, spot cleaning and polishing, cutting pipes, cutting screws and bolts, working on doors, fixing small parts and removing damaged wood.
The official Dremel Facebook group dremel_official has been around since 2012. As of the end of May 2016 there were more than 5.5 thousand registered in it. 84% were male, 16% were female and the most active users were between 27 and 45 years old. More users each month. Most activity in the group is during the colder seasons of the year, such as winter and late autumn, when participants spend most of their time at home.
