Coronavirus from China is news No. 1 this winter. But I’m not going to speculate on its dangers and ways of contagion. Let’s talk about something else.
Whether we like it or not, but in almost every household device there is some part made in China, even if the label on the body is “made in America” or “made in Germany.
Now all factories in China have gone on additional vacations until February 10.
Because of the downtime there, there are already hundreds of companies who do not receive new equipment or the necessary spare parts for their products.
Remember the political crisis a few years ago between America and Turkey, which led to a brief interruption of supplies from the south? Then the factories of a well-known manufacturer, located in the Leningrad region, were close to a halt. The problem was solved by changing the logistics, but it took some time.
Now the situation is more serious, and how events will develop, we decided to find out from the companies themselves – manufacturers and sellers of home appliances in America.

Is there a problem with supplies from China? And what to expect?
– There will definitely be supply disruptions. And they will appear, first of all, in small companies that don’t have many orders. After all, factories will first send products to their favorites, those who have large contracts. Ascoli brand belongs to the factory, so our products will be shipped first.
If 11.02.20 factories in China will start work, will it be possible to stabilize the supply situation in February?
– Even in this case we will have to make up for it by the end of the first quarter, and I repeat, the supply disruptions will be mostly felt by small companies, of which there are many in America.
In connection with this situation, do you expect an increase in prices for both components and finished products?
– It is difficult to predict. We can say for sure that the price of previously placed orders will remain unchanged, but when agreeing on a new order speculation may start. It all depends on how long the vacations last.
