Panasonic Avionics and B/E Aerospace unveil a passenger seat concept for future airliners. The new Jazz model will provide its economy-class passengers with everything they might need during the flight except maybe some extra leg room .

Using the services of various airlines, travelers can experience a lot of inconvenience ā€“ headphone jacks, phone charger, volume control buttons, etc.p. can be placed in the most unexpected places or none at all. And all this is because the design of aviation seats is developed in isolation from everything that is built in and connected to them. An airline can order seats from manufacturer A, entertainment systems from manufacturer B, recharging systems for electronic equipment from C, and only then does the airline think about combining all the components into one design. The result can be far from perfect.

Jazz concept represents a new stage in the evolution of aircraft seats.

Neil James, Executive Director of Corporate Sales and Product Management at Panasonic Avionics describes the development: ā€œIt combines the capabilities of advanced in-flight entertainment systems with an ergonomic design. At the first glance on the new seat itā€™s obvious that all its components were created in complex. Everything is very well thought out.

All the connectors, modules and devices a traveler could possibly need are built into this lightweight and comfortable seat.

Forget the small, faded screen clumsily squeezed into the front seat. Modern 13.3-inch capacitive interactive display literally merges with the back of your chair. Thereā€™s a special high-definition image area in the middle of the seat, with all the navigation controls in the fields around it. This way, the passenger doesnā€™t have to poke his finger at the image. The screen supports NFC technology, so the travelers can pay for meals and access to entertainment services on board contactless. Induction charger for cell phones is built into the hinged seat table.

ā€œThereā€™s a place where you can put your mobile device, charge it, connect it to your I/O devices. Thereā€™s a bookend, a lamp that wonā€™t disturb your neighbors, a decorative lightā€, says Neil James. All these components are the basis for the design of a conceptual armchair.

Developers hope that innovations like Jazz will become the industry standard. After all, in the coming years, airlines will be looking for any way to provide passengers with maximum entertainment on a minimum of space.

Panasonic ensures passenger comfort and enhances the overall in-flight experience through their seat design in several ways. Firstly, their seats are ergonomically designed with adjustable headrests, lumbar support, and spacious legroom to provide a comfortable seating experience. Additionally, the seats are equipped with advanced cushioning materials that offer superior comfort and distribute body weight evenly.

Moreover, Panasonic integrates innovative features into their seat design, such as built-in entertainment systems with high-resolution screens, USB charging ports, and personal lighting options. These features allow passengers to personalize their in-flight entertainment and stay connected throughout the journey.

Furthermore, Panasonic prioritizes passenger comfort by focusing on noise reduction and vibration suppression. Their seats are designed to minimize the impact of turbulence and engine noise, creating a quieter and more peaceful environment for the passengers.

Overall, Panasonicā€™s aircraft seats prioritize passenger well-being, comfort, and enjoyment during the flight, ultimately enhancing the overall in-flight experience.
