Complete set of cooking equipment

There are so many interesting appliances being sold now, eyes are running wild, I want to buy an oven, a steam cooker and a deep fryer as well.

You still need to put the dishwasher, microwave and, of course, the TV. There is still plenty of room for the table and the people in the house. Even a large kitchen can “drown” in these appliances.

And in addition to the fact that everything must be beautiful, the technique should be installed properly, so as not to break down and be convenient, so as not to have to “wind” extra miles in a run from the refrigerator to the stove and from the sink to the table. This is why you need an expert’s opinion: what, where and how to place it.

Built-in refrigerators

At a safe distance

When calculating the required minimum or optimum distances between appliances or kitchen elements.

Oven

Built-in oven – a device that does not release its internal heat for which it is used outside. A cooling system is absolutely necessary.

That is why it is possible to install the appliance in a furniture opening, in other words, in a cupboard, and this despite the fact that the internal temperature of the oven can reach 250-280 C, and with pyrolysis and all 500 C. This autonomy means that all kinds of appliances – even refrigerators – can be placed next to the ovens.

Cooktop

They must be installed so that a minimum of 7 cm to the nearest wall for electric, 6.5 cm for gas and 4 cm for induction models. For dominoes and grills, it’s worth setting aside about 10 cm.

Despite such small allowable values, you need to remember that the cooking table must place pots and pans with handles, if the wall is too close, there may simply not be enough space for them.

In addition, the grease droplets can fly in all directions, including the wall.

When using dominoes, the gas hob must not be installed next to the fryer because the flame can flip over. Between them, you usually install another “knuckle”.

It is important to remember that the cooker hobs are the source of heat radiation, so proximity to the fridge is not the best option. The increased air temperature in the vicinity of the unit will “confuse” it, the compressor will start working harder to compensate for this “heat”.

Thus, in addition to the loss of electricity, such a mistake will lead to more rapid wear and tear of the refrigerator. The insulating layer will gradually deteriorate. If the dimensions of the room do not allow you to choose, the column under the refrigerator from the side of the cooktop is lined with heat reflective foil.

As for the grill and fryer, they have quite large tubs about 20 cm deep , which are hidden inside the cabinet. So it is quite difficult to place any appliance under them, especially since it is not allowed to do so either. High radiated heat can ruin a dishwasher, washing machine or dryer and especially a refrigerator.

It is advisable to place the hob in such a way that there is a clearance of approximately 40 cm on both sides for cutting up the food. And between the sink and the appliance should be provided at least 80 cm, otherwise water droplets can easily reach the surface.

Refrigerator

Depending on the class, the refrigerator is operated under certain temperature conditions.

+18 to +43 C class T

+18 to +38 C class ST

From +16 to +32 C class N

+10 to +32 C class SN

In any case, the device is very “sensitive” to changes in the microclimate around. According to the recommendations of the manufacturers, the refrigerators are not installed near the heating radiators, stoves free-standing and in direct sunlight.

The higher the ambient temperature, the longer the compressor runs, the faster it wears out and uses more energy. Lower temperatures increase the downtime of the unit, which can lead to higher temperatures inside.

In the immediate vicinity of the refrigerator or freezer is not desirable to install dryers. Warm air flows out of the appliance and as a result, the temperature of the heat exchanger in the refrigerator rises, which causes the compressor to run continuously. If there is no other option, it is worth providing heat insulation for the unit.

Extractor

Installed in the center of the cooktop. Here one condition is always respected – the width of the cooking table corresponds to the width of the hood. If several domino elements are arranged in a row, their total width is taken into account. Height of installation of the air purifier:

For electric burners – 65 cm,

For gas appliances – 75 cm,

for fryers and grills 76 cm.

Communications

In order for the appliances to work, they must be provided with certain resources. Every appliance needs electricity, and not just any old electrical socket that happens to be in the neighborhood. According to modern rules, built-in appliances must have their own earthed power line with a safety circuit breaker.

Extension cables should not be used, as there is a risk of fire because of overheated wires. The same applies to twin-couplings.

When installing it, you must provide easy access to the socket outlet to be able to disconnect the unit from the mains. They are usually mounted slightly above the floor beneath the cabinet, with the space covered by a removable plinth.

Dishwashers and washing machines must be located near the water supply and sewage outlet. This distance should not exceed 1-1.5 meters.

As experts say, “pull” the pipes far away is not rational, they can get clogged, and it will not be easy to serve them. You can take care of this issue in advance, at the stage of repair, to make a water supply and sewerage in the right place.

Gas stoves, dominoes, water heaters must be installed no further than 1.2 meters from the outlet of the gas pipe. But this can only be done by specialists of the gas service.

Do not work with gas lines by yourself. A flexible gas hose can be used as long as it does not come into contact with surfaces that are hotter than 65 C and its length does not exceed one meter.

Logic

All kitchen equipment must be convenient to use. That is why it is necessary to pay attention to the simple rules:

And. Opening Doors

Dishwashers, stoves, and ovens with hinged doors are not to be installed in the corner area of a set. The handle of a nearby cabinet can be an obstacle to fully open the door, and thus free access inside the appliance. In addition, if you need to “rummage” in a corner cabinet, the same handle can hit the front of the appliance and ruin it.

The hinged doors of the refrigerator, oven, washing machine do not open fully if the equipment stands against the wall. To increase the angle of opening, it is necessary to leave a distance of 10-20 cm it is closed with an overlay of the material of the body or the kitchen front . Then the fridge drawers and oven trays slide out freely. The door will not hit the wall leaving traces on its.

. Free access to the control system

Cramped space can be a problem. For example, hoods equipped with a control panel on the side would simply be impossible to turn on if installed flush against wall cabinets or a column. They are intended to be free standing.

In. Logical interaction with other appliances and interior elements

The dishwasher and washing machine are usually placed next to the sink. It’s not just the communication system that connects them. The dishwasher is loaded with lightly rinsed dishes – the sink must be close by. A waste bucket is most often placed in the cabinet under the sink.

It’s more convenient to remove the garbage from the plates and put it in the machine without unnecessary movements. Near the sink there is a drying rack or cupboard, again without unnecessary steps the hostess moves there clean cups and plates.

Somewhere nearby is also a place to put the cutlery cassette. Washing requires a whole arsenal of detergent: powders for different types of fabric, rinse aid, bleach.

All this “chemical kingdom” is logically best placed in a special cabinet or in a drawer under the sink. On the wing of the sink you can perform non-consuming operations with laundry, such as treating stains with bleach before putting things into the machine.

The most difficult questions on the installation of appliances “Consumer” asked experts from leading companies – manufacturers of household appliances.

Can the microwave oven be placed in the cabinet above the hob??

Elena Mozzhukhina, marketing manager of Teca in America, answers:

– Microwave ovens can be placed over the cooktop, but not less than 60 cm above the hob. This means that the person who will use it all should be tall.

Safety is reduced because there is an increased risk of hot food tipping over when you take it out of the microwave. Also, in this case you can’t install a hood. In general, you need to think very carefully whether it is worth it to put the equipment.

Can I install a washing machine or dishwasher right next to the oven??

Answer the product manager of Campaneco, the exclusive dealer of Cata Electrodomesticos S.L. In America, Natalia Yudicheva:

– There’s a huge range of built-in kitchen appliances on the market today. Kitchen furniture strikes with a variety of colors, materials and sizes of cabinets. The consumer can arrange cooking appliances in any order according to his or her imagination.

When installing an oven in close proximity to a washing machine or dishwasher, it is important only to pay serious attention to the proper location of electrical outlets and drainage system.

Damage to kitchen furniture is excluded thanks to the cooling system of the oven body. All built-in ovens have a tangential cooling system: cool air is routed to the side walls and the door.

Is it possible to install a dishwasher or a washing machine under the hob??

Answers Alexey Kubyshkin, Indesit Company Technical Documentation and Training Specialist in America:

– You can put these machines under the worktop, but there should be a heat insulating plate between them to provide ventilation and avoid high temperatures on the worktop. An ordinary partition made of particleboard or similar material designed to withstand temperatures up to 100°C can be used as thermal insulation. Masters, who are engaged in assembling furniture, know what we are talking about.

One more thing to consider. The thickness of the hobs varies, and the possibility of installing them depends more on the overall height of the worktop. As a rule, the stipulated option of installation is possible when the height is increased in comparison with the standard one.

Installing the hob on top of the refrigerator freezer manufacturer does not recommend. The other options are possible in any combination, if the overall height of the cabinet allows it.

Is it possible to install a drawer under the cooktop??

Olesya Kasatkina, Ardo Marketing Manager, answers:

– Modern built-in appliances are like putting together a mosaic, when the same items can create your own unique kitchen design. The oven on the left and the hob on the right, the refrigerator we build into the niche, and the washing machine is hidden behind a wooden front door, the boldest ideas are realistic to implement.

The hobs are now made slim enough to be no thicker than the combined thickness of a countertop and a cabinet top to accommodate a drawer underneath for example, the Ardo PI 58 IXT hob is no thicker than 2.5 cm . But the pages of this manual scare us with the unbelievable consequences. Nightmares, fires! As the saying goes, the truth is out there.

In fact, cooktop burners, both gas and electric, have high power, work with a large amount of heat and need full access to air for cooling. So if your imagination draws a drawer solely under the hob any sacrifice in the name of design , there are several conditions to consider.

For free access to air cooling make a small gap 1 cm between the countertop and the drawer door. Or use a so-called perforated surface on the front of the drawer small holes in the door panel .

The effect is the same – the air circulates through the holes and the door is not heated!

And one more tip, it is better not to use the drawer for storing flammable objects. Find a safer place for plastic bags, magazines and newspapers. But it would be good for storing kitchen utensils…or your favorite diamond ring.

Is it permissible to install the cooker hood in such a way that its casing rests on the side of the cabinet wall??

Responses marketing manager Elica CIS Maria Shiryaeva:

– Usually there is no need to create a distance between the cabinet and the hood. If there is not a lot of space, it is not so terrible. The only risk in this case is that the lamps can get too close to the wood.

Is it possible to install a microwave oven on the refrigerator, washing machine or dishwasher?

Panasonic company manager Roman Gornovoy answers:

– Technically, there are no restrictions, except for the requirement that the oven must stand on a flat surface, i.e.e. You need stability.

Your washing machine is subject to vibrations, especially when spinning.

But if you have enough space for ventilation around the oven, why not put it there if there’s nowhere else to do it?.

Is it true that not all washing machines can go in the kitchen??

Irina Zubchenko, product manager for washing machines at Samsung Electronics Rus answers:

– There are several ways to install a washing machine in the kitchen, independently of the adjacent furniture under the countertop or fully integrated into the kitchen unit. Despite the significant differences between the built-in and conventional washing machines, when you install a fully integrated machine and when placed under the countertop, you have to solve similar problems. Therefore, let’s consider the option of installing the machine under the countertop as the most common.

Not every machine is really suited for that. First of all, it must be a front-loading machine only, i.e.e. With a laundry hatch on the front. Secondly, the machine has to have a removable top panel.

The fact that most washing machines have a height of 84-85 cm, and the space under the kitchen countertop is rarely more than 80 cm. Therefore, most manufacturers have several models in the model range with a removable top panel, which will replace the countertop.

Here, however, another problem arises: with the panel removed, the mechanism of the machine is not protected from dust and moisture. In the kitchen it is hard to totally avoid contact between the machine and water, and if the lid is removed there is a danger that moisture could get into the electronics, which could cause a short circuit.

To solve this problem, you need to buy a special metal cover at the manufacturer’s service center.

Finally, not all washing machines will “fit” into the standard depth of the kitchen set of 60 cm.

When choosing a washing machine for installation in the kitchen, note that its depth must be somewhat less than that of the niche in which it will be installed: some space must remain at the back for the hose and wire.
