Citrus sorbet

Sorbet

Serving ice cream for dessert is the easiest thing to do. Top with whipped cream or syrup and garnish with chocolate slices or cookies – very tasty and… caloric. If you love ice cream, but want a “lighter version,” remember how delicious “fruit ice” is. Also called sorbet, it is a cold fruit dessert made with freshly squeezed juice or fruit puree. Sorbet differs from ice cream in that it has practically no calories and takes little time and effort to prepare.

Banana boats from BRAUN

Small appliances for the kitchen

The recipe is elementary, especially for hand blender owners. Serve this dish on small plates, because the patties are long and narrow – kind of like Indian pies! It’s not convenient to take them from a common dish – they can break.

Needed:

– 2 bananas

– 100g of any unsalted nuts

– 50g chocolate

– 100 g cane sugar

Peel and cut bananas in half lengthwise, shape into thin slices using a teaspoon. Melt the cane sugar in a pan, and when it begins to melt, add the nuts and stir thoroughly until cooled. Chop the resulting caramelized nuts in a blender. Stuff the prepared banana boats with the nut mixture. Melt chocolate in a water bath and pour over the pecans and julienne.

I have tried various fruit sorbets, but I’ve never had citrus sorbet before. How does its flavor compare to other fruit sorbets? Is it more tangy or refreshing? Is it better served as a palate cleanser or as a standalone dessert? I’d love to hear your thoughts and recommendations if you’ve tried citrus sorbet before!

Citrus sorbet has a unique flavor compared to other fruit sorbets. It tends to be more tangy and refreshing due to the natural acidity of citrus fruits like lemon, orange, and grapefruit. Citrus sorbet is perfect as a palate cleanser between courses in a meal due to its refreshing qualities. However, it can also be enjoyed as a standalone dessert, especially on a hot day or after a heavy meal. I highly recommend trying citrus sorbet if you enjoy fruity and tangy flavors, as it provides a delightful burst of refreshing sweetness.
