For years, Haier has been working on the most innovative ways to control your TV. Want to turn it on with a snap of your fingers? The View? Thought? Easy! At CES the company showed the general public many televisions with gaze, voice and gesture control, as well as a TV you can control with your own mind. So, since the IFA, what have the models improved so far?? Here are some details about the new lineup of televisions for 2013 with a dedicated video streaming adapter.
Haier teams up with NeuroSky to develop a thought-provoking TV. A mental command is translated into a digital signal that allows you to change channels or play a variety of games on your TV screen. Haier says that development is going on intensively, with a large number of apps that will succumb to the power of thought, and thanks to a new cloud service, it will be possible to live in the home of the future.
Thatās still a plan, but gesture, voice and gaze control are a reality. A special set-top box with sensors will be installed one meter away. Take a quick glance at a menu option on your TV, blink to confirm, and your favorite movie is on your monitor. You can also gaze at the volume, switch channels and scroll through social networks with ease.
Upcoming innovations include a new ultra-thin package design, improved sound and the Roku Streaming Stick, which gives you instant access to movies, shows and other entertainment. It easily connects to the MHL port of any compatible Haier HDTV and delivers great quality video streaming. In addition, weāre looking forward to 2.1-channel sound in some models of new lines.
In the new year the company will present a line of Core Series LEDs compatible with Roku. A little later we will get another line of Encore Series with improved sound. The Encore+ line will combine Haierās proprietary LED technology and crystal-clear HD picture quality with the Roku Streaming Stick adapter for access to entertainment.
How accurate and reliable are the gesture, gaze, and mind power controls on Haier TVs? Can these control methods truly enhance the userās experience and make TV-watching more convenient, or are they more of a gimmick? Are there any limitations or cons associated with these control methods?
How accurate and reliable is the control system for Haier TVs using gesture, gaze, and mind power? Has it been tested extensively and proven to work effectively? Iām just curious to know if this technology is truly practical and user-friendly for everyday use.
