The CANDY CIS642MCTT induction hob is super fast: you can boil water in seconds, fry an egg in a minute and cook a chop in three to five minutes. Induction hobs have the highest efficiency of all electric hobs and consume less power. Pros are many, but are there any cons??

The CANDY CIS642MCTT touch-slider induction cooktop blends in perfectly with the interior: it has a modern design with a glossy black surface. Traces from fingers, of course, remain on this surface, but they are well wiped with a soft cloth.

Controls

On the control panel on the front there are 4 sensor sliders that adjust the power of each cooking zone from 1 to 9.

All you have to do is swipe your finger on the slider, like you do on your smartphone screen.

The touchpad is very responsive to touch. So responsive that a couple of times when cleaning, we accidentally blocked it.

• On the right side of each slider is a button to turn on Booster mode, which increases the power of the selected burner, which speeds up cooking even more.
• On the left side of the slider the temperature hold button. This function keeps food hot without wasting energy. Dinner will reheat while the family gathers in the kitchen.
• The hob can be paused by pressing a special button. If you don’t return to the kitchen – don’t worry, after 10 minutes the cooktop will turn off automatically.

Timer

You can use it in two ways:

• As a minute minder in this case the burners will not turn off ,
• as a switch for one or more burners can be set for a maximum of 99 minutes .

Operation

Speed

Booster heats up 1 liter of water at maximum power very quickly: after 10 seconds the first bubbles appear, after 70 seconds it is boiling.

It’s hard to get used to at first, but good things quickly become the norm.

Noise

When you increase the power of the cooker hob, you can hear it working, it switches on and off impulsively.

The pots and pans can also be the cause of the excessive noise level: their bottoms aren’t perfectly smooth. That’s why the choice of pots and pans is worth special attention.

Cookware

Induction hobs, of course, require special cookware. To test it for compatibility with induction, just make sure that the bottom attracts a magnet from the refrigerator. Well, and usually these pots and pans have a thick multi-layer bottom.

Now on sale are pancake adapters, which can be placed on the induction heating zone, and they can already set any dish. But they reduce the heating rate considerably and thus ruin all the benefits of induction. It’s easier and better to buy a new pan.

Burners

Paired: two more powerful, two weaker. Arranged in a staggered arrangement: two burners of different power at the front and one at the back.

Diameter of burners is 18 cm, only the part on which the pan is placed is heated.

The smallest pan diameter is 12 cm, with less, the hob will not turn on.

Safety

A multi-stage safety system protects the Candy CIS642MCTT cooktop from a variety of dangerous situations:

1. In case of heavy boiling or spillage of water on the panel, it automatically turns off. This is something to keep in mind and keep an eye on the pan if you put it on high heat power. We had the following situation: when you come up to the hob, it is off, and there are traces of running water on it.
2. The control panel can be locked to prevent accidental power changes e.g. by children .
3. Built-in sensor monitors the temperature of the hob and shuts it down if left on for too long. On low power after 8 hours, on medium power after 4 hours, on high power after 2 hours.
4. The hob detects the presence of dishes and does not turn on if they are missing or the bottom diameter is too small , and turns off if the dishes are put away.
5. After cooking ends the residual heat indicator is lit. It will keep you from accidentally touching the hot surface the surface is heated by the cookware . You don’t have to fear unpleasant surprises.

Test results

The CANDY CIS642MCTT induction hob makes cooking faster and more convenient. It heats quickly, responds well to changes in heating power and takes care of safety. The hob is easy to control, each burner has a timer.
