Unique technology in harmony with refined design: The international home appliance brand BEKO presents an exclusive range “BEKO CAST line” presented for the first time at the IFA 2012 in Berlin. An exclusive line of built-in appliances designed by renowned architect and designer Patricia Urquiola. The main focus of the project was on built-in ovens, hoods and hobs.

For the first time, Veko paid special attention not only to the development of innovative technology for a new generation of smart appliances, but also tried to set the bar high with the latest design solutions through a fruitful collaboration with Patricia Urquiola.

The designer’s latest developments harmoniously combine high functionality and a warm and cozy style. The collection consists of three series: Star ovens , Crown cookers and Web hobs . The models in the collection use the most advanced technical solutions – for example, ovens have a display that shows the temperature and current operating modes. The main task of the designer was to develop a modern product that combines not only stylish design, but also evokes a warm feeling in the buyer.

Patricia Urquiola is the most sought-after designer of our time. However, this is the master’s first design work in the segment of home appliances. The main task of cooperation was to develop a harmonious design solution for the advanced technology of the product and demonstrate the technical advantages to the customer, without compromising its functionality. The result of this work and was the appearance of a product with a unique, non-standard design, but applicable to almost every home.

Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, a city in the north of Spain. Currently lives and works in Milan. A graduate in architecture from Madrid Polytechnic University and then in 1989 from Milan Polytechnic Institute where she did her thesis work supervised by Achille Castiglion.

Its professional activity is based on numerous design and architectural partnerships with worldwide companies – Moroso, Lissoni Associati, Agape, Alessi, B&B, De Padova, De Vecchi.

Patricia has been nominated for many international design awards, including Design Yearbook, IMM Cologne, Good Design Awards of the Chicago Athenaeum, Red Dot Award, International Elle Decoration Award .

Patricia has been awarded the Gold Medal for Fine Arts by the Spanish Government and the King of Spain, and the Cross of Isabella of the Order of the Catholic.

Her works are part of the permanent collections of many museums around the world.
